Go for it. Just because he was testing something doesn't mean mod tools aren't coming out soon.

The more you have planned the more you can do when they come out.

    Ah yes 2Fort.

I suppose when a map is so well made, where every class is given a chance to counter the other at what they do and players have to be ingenious and new in order to break stalemates then you have balance at its finest.

Also 2 fort has not changed but new weapons have been introduced that can alter the way that you play the map.

Yeah, pretty much the days where snipers would camp at the top of the fort, scouts would jump on the roof of the bridge, spys would go underneath the bridge into the sewer, engie would build in the intelligence room, etc.

I hopped onto a 2fort server recently and found everything completely different :[

    Custom maps would be great.

I don't see what's wrong with spunky, it's one of my favorite maps as assassin; one of the few maps where the ejectors are very effective.

Ok first off, ejectors are effective on ALL maps. I think the only map that could be considered only semi-useful is Steel Peel.

The problem with spunky cola is the same as 2fort. Stalemates galore. One good sniper on the back platform and one good support placing his turrets away from the ejector but still covering the bridge and there is literally no decent way to approach the enemy base. You either have to go right through the line of sight of the enemy sniper, or you have to go through the bottom side door that goes right past a rocket turret and enemy spawn.

When it doesn't stalemate till overtime its just a complete and utter steamroll, usually from one team not paying attention to the assassin at their bot spawn.

See the map often plays more like rock paper scissors than other maps.

If you DON'T have a good sniper on your team than a gunner or assault is simply going to stand on top of that lower exit tunnel by their spawn and spam mortar/grenades at your bots and turrets from near complete safety.

Assassin can avoid some of the issues with the map thanks to her ability to cloak allowing a bit more freedom of movement, but if she wants to kill bots she has to be within the line of sight of the enemy sniper OR has to be killing the bots at the spawn (whichi s nearby where the sniper would be and if he is any good he'll be keepin an ear out for that assassin.)

I just want to point out control of both ejectors on Steel Peel basically guarantee the win. Now I am normally a Tank player and Steel Peel being my favorite map I usually tend to go Assault just so I can control those ejectors.

Each team has an ejector that reaches just outside the enemies right base exit, and just so happens to be the easier side of the base to break in and drop their defenses.

Sorry for that off-topicness. Just wanted to clarify.

Steel Peel more often than not ends up with one team stuck inside their base to the point that using the ejector is just giving up free juice. If you're worrying about breaking enemy defenses then you've already taken control of mid and more than likely won the game.

Nope, works fine for me. They had some kind of security update recently though. You have to enter a code on secondary PCs to make sure games are really installed from your account. Check your emails, especially your spam folder.
