Editor bugs and issues: The Thread

    Can you confirm if the metal spots were present after closing the metal tab? While testing on a moon biome, I found some metal spots removed, but not all of them.

    And the thing with some metals removed is just because they were placed too close together i think

    If you place em too close to each other or too close to csg then they will get removed.

    Edited CSG assets aren't saving.

    I've had this issue before. It's beyond infuriating - maybe I should give up on mapmaking until the map editor is fixed.

    You probably did try it without mods already? A bugreport with "this is the case even without mods" is more likely to be heared by Uber.

    I think the only way to get around this is saving the file with a new name every time you make a significant change, so in case you mess up (or, the game for that matter) you can revert. Then you can play on the final version.

    I had a feeling that would be a bit of a "turn it off and on again" solution, but it actually worked. It loaded up perfectly fine.

    I still don't know what's causing it, though. This is my modlist:

    I'm guessing these are the problematic ones:
    Genesis Device (changes how orbits work)
    Hidden Biomes (unlocks more biomes)
    Map System Editor Fixes (changes a lot of things)
    Unlocked System Editor (removes the limit for some things, like water level)

    I'll try removing them to see how it goes.

    EDIT: Absolutely no difference. I guess I'll try doing the opposite: I'll remove all of the mods that I don't absolutely need, as opposed to removing all the mods that I think are causing the problem.

    EDIT 2: I removed a handful of those mods and it's working again. Sorry for thinking it was the dev's fault.

    If you can make out a clear "that mod is the culprit" it would be very interesting to know. Though it obviously also may be a rare random issue and as such hard to track down. Working with no mods at all for a few hours or days would help to make sure it really is mod caused.

    Well, I haven't been running without mods, but I cut out the map packs as well as all of the mods I listed and it's loading maps correctly now. I'll try and track down which mod is doing it later.

    It's been perfectly consistent, though. With every mod I listed, it fails to load the assets every single time. Without a select few of them, it loads the assets every single time.

    all the more reason to try to hunt down the broken mod

    If you set a CSG pathable then the mirrored CSG won't take over that setting. A small bug I think.

    CSG bugs in system editor does still exist :(


    This is done in build 84260 build pte without any mods.

    There are at least two bugs I noticed and remember:
    -Default crater CGS's wont be deleted 0:35
    -As you can see in end no CSG changes were saved eventually aside from mexes.
