I'm referring to gravity used in projectile simulation, which is likely a different gravity than used at the system editor level.
Even if it's not possible as is, this engine is meant to be extremely extensible. This means that even if gravity is different now, you could set gravity to just pull towards the closest normal surface just like units. This would allow projectiles to fall around holes and the such.
I think it's entirely up to range and line of sight. I think projectiles/missiles contour over the terrain at a certain height, like aircraft. If this is the case, then a projectiles path would just be mirrored on the inside: On the inside of a dyson ring, units would have much better line of sight, too.
I love it. Hopefully this is feasible for a later release. If not, it looks like you already have the makings of a sweet mod as it stands. I wonder how air units would handle impossible geometry...
I like to connect different controversial discussions. Let's see what we could be derive from this: - orbital units and stable orbits - megabots - shields, here the "walk on" planetary kind - do aircraft need air to fly - making an atmosphere sucking unit a balance issue - I think we had a discussion of under-representation of female form bots --> directly leading to the debate if space maid bots are sexist I'm sure there could be a few other topics to connect to. (sorry for the OT)
