do you think there will be factions or not?

    Symmetry makes for great balance obviously, but its also incredibly boring.

    Can you explain that in more depth? Because obviously that statement is based on specific assumptions you have.

    You and I might have the same unit selection, but if we use different unit compositions I don't see how it's boring.

    Theres no confirmed answer to the question.

    They have confirmed "one tech faction" not "one faction" (They used the word faction as a synonym to tech faction, but later made clear that they meant tech-faction and not faction).

    When you are equally strong in the same areas then you will end up using the same tactics. Similarly for map design having the exact same areas to deal with almost nullifies the effects of the landscape to where you may as well be fighting on flat ground.

    Having different strengths and weaknesses to deal with both in units and in location makes it far more interesting.

    So your assumption is done on the basis that Uber will introduce glaring strengths and weaknesses into the unit pool and that terrain will be symmetrical which would encourage Symmetrical Gameplay?

    This question was answered by devs wasnt it? They said there would be all units ingame available to every player, and every faction would play using the same units and build tree without any unit differences (except the commander unit himself will be the only varying unit per player and he shouldnt have large gameplay differences anyway), but there would be factions in the form of your army that you build up to be whatever composition you want to fight for your control of the map being your "faction".
