    Well, hold down shift in Supcom and you see what each unit is doing, and factory queues are pretty self-explanatory too. This is done without cluttering the UI at all.

    Simple solution would be to color the task indicators & selection boxes by player.

    Also please note that I am suggesting that you would start just like a team game of Supcom, each with your own commander and in your own area - this would cut down dramatically on any early build-order type shenanigans between you & your teammates while making it dead easy to flick over to your teammate and give them some APM support.

    Hmmm... I was sat next to 2 friends playing whatever game it was in a similar mode, and we split up the base between us verbally; friend A on the left flank building air units (he took a couple of engineers with him), friend B on the right flank building tanks (he took a couple of engineers with him), and me in the centre teching up, forting up, and eco-spamming. We are all used to communicating during games, so we had almost none of those issues; the geographical spread, coupled with someone asking for more engineers (or building their own) rather than just taking them, meant it was quite a pleasant experience. I have known them IRL for over 2 decades though, which probably helps ^^;

    Overall I quite liked that mode, primarily the free sharing of units, allowing a defending or attacking teammate access to a huge pool of direct reinforcements where needed, rather than requiring 2+ players to coordinate their own units in a cohesive attack or defense (this can also be done with direct unit gifting, if implemented). Resource pooling also helps players that are weaker at creating or maintaining eco benefit from being on a team with players who can (allowing +shareall or similar can also do the same thing). I can however definitely see how fully shared units could be a liability with the wrong communications strategy. It may be yet another pet modding project of mine that never sees the light of day :roll:

    I think if it's the default mode, people will clue in fairly quickly to how it works. With the proper UI support it could easily become a much better solution than individual armies loosely coupled by an alliance.
