You're missing the point. The taunt will damage their morale and send them into an uncontrollable rage. They will spend the rest of the game trying to single you out and kill you letting your bots slip by safely.

There might be some truth to that, except for the factor of getting a bullet to the head while taunting, which is very likely and thus the table would've turned!

    Hi,

As somebody that pretty much only plays assassin (unless everybody else demands I play something else :) ), here's my answer: keep moving.

As has been said before, good assassins don't go around hunting players. However, snipers are really annoying to all of the non 'sin classes. So, as a 'sin it is a good idea to keep the snipers on their toes by going after them from time to time and forcing them to change things up. If you are somewhere different on a regular basis, then hunting you is going to become too much of a bother. If you are always in the same spot, then that means you have a predictable setup and I'm going to figure it out quick and then you are going to be dying on a regular basis because it is isn't much of a distraction from my regular duties. Having lots of different setups that the 'sin has to figure out will make you too expensive to bother with.

    Cheers!

With sniper it is always a good tactic to keep distance from everyone, especially sniper.

Try and position yourself in a well covered area which has only one or two entrances and/or exits. Plant traps on all the entrances (upgrade them to plant more). You will hear when someone activates them - then be very quick and try to headshot them before they exit the trap or try to grapple. Use flak if needed. Most of the inexperienced assassins won't know how to quickly exit the trap - lunge to quickly exit the trap, but it is usually a bad idea for assassin to approach the sniper directly cos it is to be expected that he will plant some traps around him. Assassin should instead try and jump right behind the sniper using smoke bomb, avoiding the traps.

And if assassin does manage to get to you in close, jumping is always a good tactic cos he can't grapple you then.

If played properly and if enemy assassins aren't that good, sniper can be quite effective against assassins.

As far as pro killing, you just described the assault.

All in all the assasin is pretty much the anti-sniper class for balance.

Snipers primarily....snipe. So the only CERTAIN way to have greater dodge is to jump and quickscope.

Problem is that if you stand still while sniping, the assasin doesn't even have to grapple you, they could just star you to death.

The fact that they are OHKO for sniper with any directional grab makes them the anti-sniper class, along with highest movement, cloaking, and such.

Among equally skilled people, the assasin has an advantage over snipers.

    1: Run gold armor.
2: Survive being stabbed in the back.
    3: Bash face on keyboard.
    4: Kill assassin.
5: Use one of the "Assassin Kills" protags.
    6: Smug superiority.

Seriously though, most people deal with assassins by running armor and hopping around absolutely everywhere.

As for BEING an assassin, if you're not moving you're not playing the class properly.

You do raise a good point about the shurikens. Sometimes I wish I saw more people just harassing the sniper with shurikens just to be annoying. You don't have to outright kill them but every second a sniper isn't zoomed in is a godsend to the heavies on your team.

No, just no. Assault is. Assassin is horrible to take down snipers.

    Fixed that for you.

Very obvious that you don't have a lot of experience.

It really depends on situation. A sniper can only have so many traps laid. If they're the kind of sniper who lays traps in decent spots and freaks at the sound of a smoke bomb, you are harassing the sniper by even being in the area as a sin.

Everyone has thier own way of dealing with snipers. It's just not the heavy classes that can really do it.
