I've always been more of a theory guy and I thought about weighted balancing algorithms for a greater deal during some time last year and quite frankly what we have on the XBOX with the so called TrueSkill algorithm is about as good as it can get, that one however won't work out nicely with random team switches during the round to accomodate for some sense of balance.

Speaking about team balance, if teams were balanced as in the original sense of the word we'd end in a stalemate, there will always be a stalemate and in "imbalanced" games where you're playing in your side more than in the enemy side you can still turtle and force it into overtime only to coordinate (something I can't do with randoms) a juice rush into the enemy base.

Since we don't have TrueSkill and matchmaking in the PC version but the overtime mechanic I'd propose that as long as there are no situations like 2on6, which is a bit too daft even for my suicidal mind, there won't be any type of change.

In theory I agree with you but for me - the layman I am - there is no trivial fix to what we have in place here, the key phrase being: you cannot fix people; which includes the stubborn being I am only wanting to play with my teams, how dare I!

If we all played on our teams with our friends, I guess teams would never be balanced then. I would suppose eventually you're going to play with a few randoms and gonna have to coordinate them. It's not easy, and a lot of times they don't listen, that's usually why I carry the team 9/10 times.

edit: oh, and stalemates, those are always fun... but there isn't always going to be one clear winner in every game, so I guess I don't see what you're getting at? :-/

I know it won't be "balanced", but id rather have a useless lvl 1 Pro as a meatshield than having 4 people trying to shoot me at once. Anyway, I guess I don't care... maybe the system is fine the way it is. I don't really care... usually I just stay until the game empties, and then it gets full again.

But you know, the way the system is now, you won't be with your friends 100%. So, so much for that...
