    Thanks for this thread!

I have been troubleshooting this issue for a few hours. I just purchaed the game through steam and I am getting the same issue. The mouse just becomes unresponsive and I can only scroll in and out nothing else but the game seems to run fine behind.

I am running Arch Linux (I know not offically supported)

    Kernal: x86_64 Linux 3.15.1-1-ARCH
AMD/ATI open sourse drivers (Again I know there is issues)

Here is the terminal error I get when it crashes.
The program 'CoherentUI_Host' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)'.
    (Details: serial 71534 error_code 10 request_code 130 minor_code 1)
    (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I am happy to have found this I thought it maybe another crappy Linux game but the more I read, this is not only happening to Linux. I can play the game and it works great until this bug. Is awe4some the little I can play!

It happens every game, about 10-15 mins after starting a match, in the galaxie map or just one off battle.

Sorry still very new to the game so not sure how to load up the public test yet.

Thanks guys keep up the good work! This game looks absolutely amazing!

    PTE 67998 is a big fail on MacOS X 10.9.4 (13E25).

Locks up at end of the start game count down with a coherent crash. Reconnecting also crashes after login accepted.

    Im using Arch Linux
Finaly had time to mess with PTE today. After replacing the libs that its complaining about with the libs found in Arch. Fixing the sun, and using --softwar-ui. It still has the same error. Bug FS#2392. I also get a new error.
    Requesting resource read for coui://ui/main/game/live_game/img/build_bar/units//pa/units/commanders/imperial_invictus/.png
The build bar does not appear on the screen.
    Thanks for all your work!

The Coherent UI crashing hasn't been fixed in stable. So yes, everyone is getting this bug.

Supposedly there's some fixes in the PTE build, but I haven't been able to try it out yet.

Seems to be fixed in PTE 68253 (or haven't seen it yet). No coherent crashes in PTE so far.

Increasing max open files for OSX seems to fix most of my instability issues with stable 67523 except for this issue which happened many times in a long game last night.

Did this address any of the known issues?

This has now been resolved for me after the last patch.

The only problem I have now is after I finish a match there are no stats everything is 0 even duration. Also the screen goes black. I can hear the game behind and if hit keys you can hear the game responding in the backgound. I restart the game and it is fine again and I can play another match. Then again right after the match ends, no statsd, black screen.

But hey, I am playing full matches on Linux and it is fun!

    Thanks Guys

When it's happen next time can you try to switch to windowed mode and back? (Ctrl+Enter)
I suppose it's some new bug that only affect open source drivers.

    Sorry

The bug is still there. Froze up on me but I did play 4 full rounds before it did tho. I will go into windows mode and I turned off overlay as well.

The program 'CoherentUI_Host' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)'.
    (Details: serial 88465 error_code 10 request_code 130 minor_code 1)
    (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Thanks for all your work again SXX!

EDIT: Being in window mode did not help the black screen or the no stats. It is also wierd, if I start a new galactic game I can play for 3-4 rounds and no error. But after that it crashes every time. I will try multiplayer map next.

Could it be the increasing size of the armies or ques?

Thank you all for reporting this issue and discussing it.

I have had much more success with the latest PTE, but I am now running into issues on a 'man-made' 'death star-esque' planet.

I'm having the same error as well, except that it happens as soon as the planets load. This really is top priority.

Yeah. This seems to be a much more frequent issue with 70289.

It's pretty much unplayable for me with this build. It's as bad or even worse than it was at the end of may iirc.

I found one suspicious line in the log:
    Code:
7467 20:53:33.647934 W | Header SDK Version (6224) is compatible but does not match binary version (6225)!
Has it been like that in previous versions?

I've been getting this issue about 20 minutes into every game in 70289 during area selection. In PTE (70560-main), it happens just before selecting a starting position, with the same error:

    Code:
    22850 23:59:11.697371 W | PID: 22865 | 22865 23:59:11.696433 Requesting resource read for coui://ui/main/_i18n/locales/en/live_game_options_bar.json with internal id 899 reported FAIL

The error was 'BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)'.

Yeah, that's bug FS#2392 most likely. Hope it gets fixed soon.

I have been having this problem sporadically, but it is now very common. I have to have a 'slow' game in order not to have the "selector of death". If I rely on keyboard commands I can finish a game. It has to be something with the window callback for the mouse click/move combo - or the shift key added. But I have had it happen without using the shift key.
