Ironically enough my shadowrun disc is already unreadable. Think I got two plays out of it, best $1.14 I ever spent

    You were ripped off.
The only Shadowrun game worth playing (aside from the table-top one) was the Genesis version (SNES version was different, and really bad due to technology limits - although it could easily be done today and rock).

Why? I didn't buy shadowrun for a table top RPG game. I bought it for a highly competitive in depth FPS.

The game itself wasn't worth $60 at launch, but hell, I have 8 shadowrun discs that I all bought for $5 each. Saved $20 bucks and got 8 times the content! Why do I need that many? I don't... but one day I hope they will come in handy.

Go to college and get a degree, then get a job and soon enough you'll be able to afford a new copy for $5 (assuming your store has it) ;)

Better yet call Big Birdz 'Za and Bluntz.. maybe they need another driver?

Nostalgia for a bye gone era. I judged the game before I ever even played it (I did play it though) because it was not what I expected it to be. I wanted the Genesis\SNES version in a format that functioned, not what was given. Wrong of me? Yeah, sure. If the next Halo\Gears\CoD game came out and was done as a clone of Maniac Mansion it might be a great game, but people would hate on it for not being the game they wanted and expected it to be (although that sounds awesome, and I would play it).

Back on topic - NHL 13 looks REALLY good, great gameplay.

NHL is a great game. Along with FIFA are imo the best sports games taking comradare and satisfaction of those occasional games you get really emotionally invested in whether it be a playoff game, overtime game, or better yet both. It's a great team game that reminds me of halo in the aspect of everyone playing for a common goal with disregard of individual stats. FIFA has all this as well but I like NHL because its a bit faster paced, more scoring, hitting and fighting. Both are great games tho

The average person over the age of 10 finds utterly overpowered classes boring.

I think more people should give gunner a shot. Especially in lobbies that generally have newer players. I had a lot of fun although I raged pretty hard in the PM's from last night. Nice to see smauge and friends getting active and drawing in plenty of players who would have never bothered to try playing in top tier lobbies.

Some of those players def have potential to do really well, but just need a slight bit of guidance. Those matches played like the draft tournament or like a little before the GP/DeS/DK era. I think they can benefit from watching some videos of other private matches, but in general they are adjusting well from pubs to privates.

Although it sounds like a back ended compliment, satoshi was never a threat to me back months ago. However I now see he's improved and has developed a pretty nice private match assassin style. He calls out anni times, and enemy players by it, even calling for the rest of our team to do what they can. (airstirkes, bomb, icetraps) He calls outs where our bots our pushing and where their bots are pushing, regardless if it's his lane or not. He's vocal on lane switches and when snipers/tank is preventing him from pushing lanes.

Even tried explaining to the sniper how to be aggressive and why it's beneficial. That's huge if you ask me. The issue that most people seem to have with vet players is the lack of constructive criticism, and just pure criticism. Sucks, but you basically have to sugar coat criticism if you want it people to listen to what you have to say.

In general, any good player will make any class look overpowered. Sometimes, Assassins can feel OP because the constant juicing or an assault will feel damn near invincible because of his damage output and maneuverability, etc.

    We've been over this kids.

The Tank and Gunner are "overpowered" classes because the traditional Heavy downside (low mobility) is negated by the presence of jetpacks that no other class has (the assault's jets hover, they don't climb).

Squishies are still squishies, despite tweaks in their kits, but giving high mobility to damage soaks who have instant kill abilities? Where is the balance in that?

Has nothing to do with you, has everything to do with basic logic and good game design.

pretty much, but the reality of it is this is a class based team game and everything has a counter.

Yep. They put a cooldown on the jump jets on the PC version for a reason. Clawing breaks the Gunner.

They also did pretty bad balance changes to the PC version.

Is it OP because people who are skilled are able to use the gunner to it's full effect? Like I said, it's class based team game and personally I feel competitive play showcases the depth of balance between classes. Nobody wants to play gunner in privates because they get shot by everything. It's the main focus on opening up a play for map control. I mean how hard is it to snipe or railgun a gunner?

You shouldn't face grapple a tank as an assassin just like you shouldnt dive into a head on shooting match as an assault against a gunner, but it's not like tank's close range game is OP. It's sad because many claim the call of duty generation is slowly ruining FPS games, and here you guys claiming a mechanic that actually adds to the skill gap actually hurts the game. People don't pick gunner as it is because you have extremely low mobility, and it's difficult to learn how to claw or use the jetpacks while aiming. If gunners had even less mobility, nobody would bother playing it.

I guess it comes down to people having different opinions of what OP means. The majority of casual halo players claim that the Halo CE pistol was greatly OP, while the competitive community feels it isn't. It's the quickest OPTIMAL kill time throughout the entire series, with a kill time of .6 if you hand 3 perfect headshots. However, the game isn't hitscan which means you have to account for bullet travel time depending on how far of a distance your opponent is. For those of you who aren't reading between the lines, that means the gun came with a degree of difficulty in which if used properly you are able to dominate the game. However, each powerweapon had it's own niche roll that greatly dominated the Pistol when used. A smart player should never lose a 1v1 close range fight when holding a plasma rifle and their opponent has the pistol. (remember, there's no lunge in Halo CE).

TL;DR version for above paragraph -

Weapon is very powerful, but difficult to use thus creating a skill gap. Everyone has the same opportunity to dominate with said weapon, but only certain can use it to it's full ability. Just because you aren't as skilled or as able to use said weapon or ability someone else doesn't mean it's OP, it just means they're better than you.

They are not hard classes to use, that is a cop out statement used by people who are overly reliant on them.

A class with high damage at range, high damage at melee, high mobility, and high health, is not hard to play, period.

Remove "high damage at range", this class isn't hard to play either.

Put a "low" in there and maybe you can pretend otherwise.
