Or if you win one you'll climb higher, not so bad imo...

Really? I'm technically above you right now in Uber (#25) so it can't be *that* hard :p

Edit: also as the number of games increases, won't the difference a few points makes diminish? At the moment most players haven't played many games so it's going to shuffle around alot...

Actually, it is the other way around. First there wad a reset, now 'rules have changed'. I have incentive to wait until things settle down.

Using there rating system no madder if you are rated if you drop the threshold you will drop. So if I'm 34 and your 25 but you take a huge loss vs a silver rating and then if you loose enough to be below the threshold then it will not madder

True, but isn't it equally easy to climb back up again?

Surley on balance a player will level out where they should with enough games? Lets be honest your ranked 8 / 9 on the old PA:Stats ladder, so your going to be at a similar level in Uber even if it takes you a while to get there?

there rating system is based off an improved Elo system that was made to replace Chess's old elo system made back in 1960's. in an elo system there is a max of gaining or losing 25 points in a single game i believe. but the higher the elo difference between opponents changes the amount of that you get, so lets say the difference is huge like i said an uber losing to a silver your most likely to lose 25 points or close to and the lower player will get those 25. But if the higher player who was heavily favored to win the match gets the win then they get very little reward, around 3 to 5 points. So in this system im guessing if you are uber and get upsetted and lose that large margin it will take around 5 games of pure wins against a lower player to get back to your old rating. Climbing up an elo ladder is alot harder then falling down it. In a perfect world Uber players would play uber or plat level players and the elo swings for a loss would not be that bad and the gain would be a normal 12-20 points and loses about the same.
