Try it out before posting about how much a nerf it is. I play both Tank and Gunner a lot on PC version and it feels fine. The visual feedback will help.

Can you comment on if this is likely a PC only change or is it being considered for consoles as well?

While I agree it's not that bad, it is still ALOT less fun. I'd say I tend to play more defensive now which is not how I envision a heavy class should play. Can we expect tweaks like these to other classes to make them play safer? Is it because you guys feel the pacing is too fast on PC?

This is a PC specific change due to much greater air control and accuracy with mouse and keyboard.

    :whew:

The level 3 charge changes I can deal with, this not so much.

Okay, understandable. I'll miss my unhindered hops to the ceiling of the world though. O tempores, o mores...

And it will take longer to get to the Annihilator and harder to pancake Assassins.

I'm looking forward to the Jet-O-Meter

    Jessep,

Again instead of making false assumptions, try playing the class.

Eka, don't take my complaints too seriously. I will always complain about balance even - louder when some lucky Assassin will get a drop on me because I was out of fuel. (Wait for it, you'll never hear the end of it... ;))

I have seen plenty of Gunners who spend more time in the air than on the ground and deep down I know it is fine. But where would be the fun if I could not even complain a little? :D

However, I promise I will shut the hell up if you nerf quick-scoping. Seriously, I promise!

I can deal with the bullets, and the bombs, and the blood. I don't want money, and I don't want medals. What I do want is the Sniper nerfed! [props if you get the reference]

'Sometimes I think I have to nerf myself just to make it fair.' Is that it?

I think the nerf was too severe. They feel so clunky now.

Really? Never joined an online game have you...because they're still everywhere.

Nope, it's movie reference. A Few Good Men, with Jack Nicholson starring as Colonel Jessep.

I still do it, in fact, I don't really think this hindered my movement at all.
So no complaints here I guess. If anything, this makes my escape attempts a little more futile, but with more strategy I suppose...

Felt like a punch in the lungs at first, but after a bit of adjustment it didn't seem as brutal. Routine combat movement doesn't feel all that nerfed to me, but then I don't have that many hours on it - main impediment I personally feel is that it doesn't let me travel across the map to a destination as smoothly.

For example on steel peel when the enemy moneyball is down and you're making a direct line from spawn as quickly as possible, my route used to be: jumppad to outer ring, fly to center, hop-jet to annihilator, hop-jet to other side of center ring, medium-jet to the opposing outer ring, then big-jet up to the top of the glass wall to chain down on the ball.

Now, it's like the gunner has taken up smoking, and you have to stop to catch your breath a few times along the way. But we *REALLY* need the meter... even knowing that I'm supposed to rest, several times my life has ended in disaster because two feet from cresting the wall I've run out of jets and fallen to a far, far less desireable location.

I also think the idea mentioned above about throwing out the grapple upgrade in favor of a jetpack upgrade is very interesting, even if it's just a wild fantasy. That would sure give me a real tough choice on how to spend my money, which I don't really feel right now. Hell, I would seriously consider starting the match with Gunner 2 and Jetpack 2 at the expense of a delayed Gunner 3.

Does a gold speed endorsement change the recharge?

I guess you haven't been playing much. 2-3 assaults 2-3 assassin each team every game. There's actually less snipers now, maybe due to half the opposing team being cloaked or no heavy classes to feed off of.

After playing a bit tonight, all this nerf has done is lowered the skillcap on the Gunner class. It won't be a big deal to the majority of Gunners, but it's a extraordinary nerf to well played Gunners. There is no mobility left in this class which leaves hardly any room for skill to show. I think it may be an overreaction due to a few Gunners really showcasing the power of the class when extremely well played.

Yeah, like that wubbles guy. That guy is a monster. Or a machine. Some kind of monster-machine with the gunner

After a few more hours of testing I'll try to give a more accurate feedback on a gunner point of view...

For people who don't play gunner much, or play it a traditional way, I'm not sure if they'll notice a big difference. Now for people who were basing all their gameplay around mobility (like me), it's quite a strong nerf.

Gunner's moves can now totally be annihilated by one or two snipers, since we are now really easy to headshot and a perfect target for them (and no way to escape fast, like tank's charge). Ammomule is the perfect example of this, where I'm now stuck in defense 80% of the time if there are 2 snipers in the other team. And it is now really difficult to escape a dangerous situation. On a positive note, I think assassins do not represent a bigger threat though...

However, I do not question the fact that gunners needed to be balanced, since a well played gunner could be devastating (60-5, here I am! :D). But I find that gunner is now less fun to play. Bah, if I want mobility I can still stick to assault, but I'd miss the good old Tiki style a lot :-/

Yeah, you pwned me good some days ago before the nerf. Some really nice flying there from you! Guess we are both more earth-bound now. :|
