Capturing Tool: In for 1.0 release?

    It is indeed a cool feature and very helpful in Supreme Commander, but in PA the economy is easier and the units are all the same, no advantage in capturing another enemy fabber for new tech options... I love to capture but won't be sad if it is not coming to PA either.

    Whaaat, but FA had all the stuff the enemy could build, t3 aeon magic generator is one.

    I like the capture tool because you might think there's no reason to capture, but a guarantee you've felt at some point that you've wished you had it just for something... (capturing enemy metal extractors rather than reclaiming and rebuilding for instance.)

    What if your opponent has a row of undefended Factories, or T2 Power Generators or Metal Mex? Or you get into short range of a Catapult/Pelter/Hokins, and it can't hit you?
    It also lets somebody down on their luck recuperate quickly if they can capture some useful Eco/Production, which could be interesting for the mid-end game.

    That's a good point, air fabbers could have some interesting offensive uses for capturing things that aren't defended with AA. I would like this to use this opportunity to officially reverse my position and say that we should have capturing in as a feature, even if it only gets used one game in a hundred.

    I'm just hoping capturing is supported in through modding so if we had a mod that added another faction capturing one of their units would be possible.

    capture should definitively be in imho
    players having the same unitpool shouldnt matter
    capturing enemy mexxes should be a given as well as strategicaly important productionfacilities ... that would allow fabbers to have a more active role on the battlefield something i generaly like to see more of as players for instance dont built firebases ... like at all ... so tweak holkins and pelters?
    capturing imo would definitively add some depth than to just annihilate everything

    Weird. In every FA match I've seen people reclaimed them and built their own, I guess it's faster/cheaper?

    If it is cheaper and faster then it would possibly faster then reclaim then build in its place.
    When all would be in theory is just replace the computer inside and gives it, a new paint job

    I think of it a singleplayer feature.

    It could conceivably be useful in Galactic War.
