We could always make then a little tankier too.

They might be raiding mechs, but they doesn't necessarily mean that they have to be made of literal paper.

Tanks can drive through forest, no problem. And if it somehow managed to cause a problem, the inferno, or an uber cannon shot should clear it out ASAP.

One way to distinguish bots vs tanks is through using overkill damage and fire rate. Tougher units can have vastly more health and gawfully over powered guns, but still lose to smaller units that don't waste damage on overkill.

    For example....

IF a tank has 500 HP and a gun that does 2000 damage but only shoots once a second, those tanks would rock against each other. Lets say for 100 metal (arbitrary, not final balance)

IF a bot had 50 HP, 20 damage per shot, but shot 10 times a second the the DPS it would have 1/10th the health and DPS.. Put them in at 20 metal and they look over priced at a glance... It's 1/10th the unit, you're paying twice as much for each point health and DPS. But 5 bots would murder a tank with only 1 casualty.

If a turret does just 50 DPS with a fast firing moderate AoE (enough to hit 5 bots) but has 4000 health it easily wipes out 20+ bots by itself, but a single tank would rock it's day.

Edit: I thought of an analogy... Modern tanks easily OHK each other with 120mm DU rounds, but the gun is silly stupid overkill to use on a single infantryman.

A 50 Caliber explosive round explodes infantry wholesale and does some moderate damage to light armored vehicles (lets say we're engaging a Striker with a 105mm gun instead of an abrams) and the 50 cal is infantry portable.

The Striker's 105 will be a better choice if you are engaging another striker, but if that is its the only weapon for fighting back against the infantry it's going to be destroyed by their 50 cals.

theres a way… if bots cost 1/4 of the cost of tanks an did each a 1/4 of the damage so its a trade off for the same cost of swarming or tanking (literally).
