I am TOTALLY excited about this. This is only the single player part of the Galactic War and I'm super happy with how it turned out.

Awww what? But I want to launch a campaign of galactic conquest against and with my friends...

This is the image I've had it in my mind since the begining, and I would have no problems with them copying something from Battlefront 2. It was a great game mode that could last me and my brother's days and days of play time.

Saying that, I would like to see some sort of strategy-gameplay other than just take certain systems because of their position to other systems. Adding stuff like certain perks/resources for conquering specific systems would be a nice addition to the meta-game.

But I would still be fine if it was just conquering systems.

The one time I've seen you freak out so far, you were right about a few experimental things that were never added to the game (and I doubt that they were ever going to be added), other than that, the additions made T1 play very viable.

My impression from the article is that they added some mechanics to the meta-strategy, to actually make it interesting. And since there is no researching, or unit unlocking in PA (it would make balancing galactic war a nightmare if let's say one faction had nukes, but the other one didn't have anti nukes unlocked yet), they threw in special abilites and perk style stuff, and cards to make the metagame interesting.

Otherwise it'd be just a screen for jumping from one battle to another. Not very interesting is it?

I incredibly respect what you do around these forums mate, but sometimes you can jump the gun and pass judgement too soon. Give this thing at least a try before you pass judgement.

It seemed pretty obvious I was NOT implying pay to win of any sort. However I would like to see that super unit now, given you collect enough in game credits
Planets could give bonusses as well, like +10 per metal planet owned or something.

PS: Battlefront was a good game, a similar system to that would indeed fit I think. Afther all galactic conquest will be more of a fun game mode than a competitve scene

I think it would be cool if you could host a tourney without brackets where all the players are thrown together in one giant galactic war, and the winner of the tourney is the winner of the war.
