Binary systems in PA?

Well if you can make solar panels you can extract energy from the sun directly.
What about using them as trash cans?
Got a few asteroids loitering the system?
Why not throw them into the sun and get rid of them? Bonus points if there are enemies on them.

I've also read that, but I've also read (iirc) that they've since come back on that and are again thinking about it.

It is theoretically possible for planets to form around binary systems and actually survive. Which means, it is possible to have both realism and awesome in the same place!
