You're not addicted at all if it's your job.
At that point it's just loving what you do.
    Just saying.

If you guys are referring to leadlp, he's not denying the addiction as a problem. He's denying that it's destructive.

Me, personally, I can't. The weird thing is with me is this.

Smoke weed - I can still be productive.
Play video games - I can still be productive.
Smoke weed AND play video games - life over.

The problem with saying that something is a 'waste of life' is that you can't constitute what a good use of life is.

    Also, trufax.

Being a serious stoner is a waste of money. It's not a waste of life if you're getting **** done.

So you pass off gaming as destructive(which it is), but being a stoner is a-ok? This thread had a really promising premise, but now it's rolling downhill at 86 MPH whilst on fire.

The thing about smoking weed is you can do productive things while smoking weed. In fact, depending on the activity, it actually can improve upon it. Shammas, for example, wants to be a famous musician. I would actually recommend that he smokes weed because it legitimately helps with that.

If you're wanting to be a spinal surgeon...not so much.

Video games eat away at your TIME. If you spend 6 hours a day playing video games, that limits your ability to do more important things, like study, develop job-skills, work out, etc. You can technically do all these things while high, and as long as you have a tolerance, it doesn't hinder your ability to do so. Personally, I love rolling (submission wrestling...what we call sparring in jiu jitsu) when I'm stoned.

It may not be destructive on your schedule, but it's far more destructive to your health, your income, and finer skills.

    Pretty much this.
Inb4 its not bad for you
    Inb4 researches
Science is too fickle to be trusted sometimes.

You don't see people OD on video games.
Marijuana leads to using more intense drugs, which can kill you.

My father is a physician that specializes in internal medicine and he plays video games like Raiden 4 and the Resident Evil series.

    Explain that.

    ///Edit///

I'm pretty sure in one of the medical magazines that I've read from my dad's mountain pile of study material stated in an article about how they conducted a study between video game and surgeons. They mentioned that video game can help the hand coordination of surgeons and increase the success rate; from the article, they stated that the surgeons are much more hand-coordinated after they've been playing video games for an hour before going into surgery.

    Amen.

This is an example of somebody who only reads like 1/5 posts in this thread. Nothing you've said here is anything I haven't addressed already. But I'll say it ONE MORE TIME:

THIS **** DOES NOT APPLY TO EVERYBODY

Is that big enough for you? Is there any part of this that is not clear? If so, please explain which part.

Guys, I can't come up with a better source than a scientific article, but smoking weed doesn't hinder me from practicing MMA or my success in my sales job. Could I be putting that money into savings instead? Yeah. Probably should be. Is it ruining my life?

    No. Video games were.
