All my guesses were "invalid" so either it's already taken or the clue must be some obscenely obscure reference.

Not gonna spend my time trying 54872 different combinations.

If someone were to do one combo every 5 seconds and kept that pace until the end it would only take 3 days, 4 hours, and 13ish minutes to get through all of them.

That's without sleeping, eating, drinking, or taking any sort of breaks. You would probably die before you finished anyway due to bodily needs. Any normal human being that has a day job and values their sanity would probably take about a month at least. That's a lot of time to waste especially if it's already taken.

Don't even bother when any kind of "Pug" combinations or 1337-speak either. No good.

Only a matter of time before someone scripts up something to bruteforce it, assuming Valve gives you an unlimited number of attempts to put in a code.

They may have already started, which could mean we're already on a 1 day (being generous) time limit. A bruteforce script would do way faster than 5 seconds per code, most likely.
