I like the sound of Flashback, I belive it fits the discibtion of the player. P.S. keep up the good work.
Liveplay Blueprinting. Lathe-Play Recalling. Time Sequence Archiving. Continuous Records. But my personal favourite would be something including "Random Access" Random Access [Data / Records / Archives]. ... such a shame DaftPunk got to Random Access Memories before us
How about just Random Access. It's a bit artsy; sure... but it avoids the over-use of Uber and PA allusions. It is a bit light on links to sport.
How about bkTrack? If you want something sports themed, how about RunBack or GameBaka (baka being rewind icelandic)? Just my 2 cents.
I think anything too multi-syllabic sounds contrived and clunky. The only suggestion I can think of that's vaguely suitable is WormHole. Although RETARDIS is brilliant, obvs.
Uberscrubber. Backscrubber? Hehehe. OverTime. MyTime. TimeOut. HAMMA TIME. Temporal Manipulator From Hell!
Let's call it 1. Dynamic Skirmish Timeline/Record 2. Reverse Engineering Record 3. Magical Battle Record
I think we should call it the Uber-Uber Uber Uber-Uber. Is there a better name? That name would amuse many. Back to being serious, my suggestion would be to separate (at least name wise) the ability to jump around the time stream ingame and the ability to manipulate a game that's already been played. Partly because I can't think of any (non-complicated) name that covers both features. Though maybe that's just because I'm terrible with names, hehe. And since I'm terrible with names, I couldn't come up with anything despite babbling and trying to buy time to think of a name.
TimeCam, Temporal Manipulator and stuff doesn't sound very solid imho so I'd go simplistic and vote for LIVE! Replay.
I usually prefer concise and memorable names over accuracy and we could definitely do worse than Random Access. Let's see if I can come up with something myself though. Hindsight, because looking back we always know better Ariadne, for helping us find our way back. Chronomancer, because what we can do with it borders on magic. Arbitrary Time Dilation, because it sounds like science! Singularity, because it helps us find the single point in time where everything went awry. Procrastinator, because now is never the best time to do anything and we lack Discworld references. Déjà vu, because we've seen it before.
Multiverse Transversal Not only does it sound cool but it kinda grounds the system in current scientific theory. You could then come up with some scientific sounding mumbo jumbo about quantum mechanics and entanglement to explain how the system works in the game. It would even explain how all the zillions of skirmishes and online matches all exist at the same time and why players can join in the middle of a match. Its not just a battle for the galaxy, but for the infinite multiverse of galaxies with commanders able to transverse between quantum realities in a limited way by going back "up" the quantum divergence stream using some sort of advanced quantum field device thingy. It would let a commander view a match by going back "up" the quantum divergence stream and observing the transformations of the quantum waveform for that universe from the point of divergence that created the match. If they want to join the match in progress (or take over in a replay of an old match) then a new quantum reality is created from that point. This allows both the original match and the new match to both exist at the same time. So thats both a name and an in game back story for it. Isn't quantum physics fun?
