Asteroid Defense?

What do you want to do to defend against asteroids?

    Like the strike team idea myself. There ought to be someway of stopping these things, not an easy one, but a way(s). I'd like the option to completely destroy them too, perhaps by planting a bomb on it ala Armageddon, or zapping them with a captured death-star, or simply hitting them with enough nukes at a safe distance to disable it(so that it would need to be repaired).

    If there is no counter, you will just have people that rush to asteroids every-single-game, especially in bigger team-based games where players can just turtle safely behind allies.

    Yes, but not all things need SPECIFIC counters. Going out and Killing it works in a large number of situations already.

    Yes there probably shouldn't be some kind of "Asteroid Defense" unit. I agree that would be boring. I also personally love the strike team idea, sending some units on the asteroid to capture it and then sending the asteroid to the enemy's base sounds sweet.
