    Dont forget that you can harras him badly. Simply be on higer place than he is and you are the winner, use bomb to make sure he dies or use it as a block: You can place the bomb on the ground between you and him, if he charges, you can stop his charge with explosion. But yea, tanks are difficult enemies. I agree with that

    Dont forget that Grenade Launcher Explodes on impact, so it deals larger damage radius, Rail Guns penetration is not so useful for this Bot killing purpose

    The Assault is still very agile. The greatest harrassing class because you can't kill him. I think the nerf was fine after having gotten used to it. Now I say you can't kill him which is obviously not true, but considering how you use your charge and flight, you can counter anything. Because of this, golden armor is just ridiculous. Silver will do it, and you gain great benifit off of gold RoF, because THERE IS a HUGE difference between silver RoF and gold RoF. Mainly useful when you're going against tanks. A tank with golden armor will most likely be surprised how fast you can tear him down.

    I've been playing him pretty much non-stop since the patch (occasionally tank or sin)

    He is underpowered. But only by a little bit. There are several ways they could fix it to bring him up a little bit to make it fine.

    When I play him I really feel I have to work much harder to achieve a decent score in terms of bot kills or pro kills or turret kills than I do when I play assassin or tank. However he is a solid money earner thanks to ring outs so he is good for buying bots/juice/turrets. Considering I've got probably 2-3x as much time as assault as I do any other class in the game, I shouldn't feel like I'm having to try extra hard to achieve results that I can get as classes I have significantly less experience playing.

    The charge nerf in terms of speed of movement wasn't as big a deal as I thought it was originally. However the cooldown is most def too long, especially level 1 and 2 (20 and 15seconds respectively.) Charge 3 needs about one second shorter cooldown and it'd be fine 15/12/9 for charges would still put him far behind the cooldowns of the Tank (7.5seconds at level 3)

    The loss of the ability to multi-bomb is a huge change and loss of variety to his playstyle, but if you just choose to never use his bombs as traps for more than 2seconds it isn't that big of a deal. I just think they need to reduce the cooldown at level 3 by one second to compensate for the arm timer and flight time.

    If jet 3 gave a reduction to the accuracy loss while flying. Or passive 3 gave a 15% ammo boost (less than even bronze ammo) than I think the class would be fine to make up for the major dps loss of the charge/bomb nerf and push him more towards using his weapons rather than skills.

    ---------

    Also fix the damn air grapple bugs. SO often charge 2 ends up getting me grappled after it has already done the damage and started the knockback, even when both me and the other player have ~30-40 ping.

    Assaults i see generally fall into three categories:

    Bunnyhopping, bomb jumping, jetpack happy nutters who flee at the first sign of trouble. Usually do well because of streak bonuses and defensive gameplay.

    Face-smashing level 3 charge assaults who are basically useless when the autograpple charge is on cooldown or it misses.

    The persistent ones. They will chase you to the ends of the arena, even if it means blowing every cooldown they have. They will hound you. Like no other.


    Only player skill seems to seperate the mediocresault from the awesomesault. The Assault himself does not seem to be inherently gimped.

    Assault is fine.

    Just make Charge3 actually do more damage than Charge2, and cancel the grapple animation if the charge impact would kill the enemy.

    Just because you punch someone into next week doesn't mean it'll automatically ring them out
    Half the time they'll just bounce off a wall or something and finish you off

    Funny that getting smacked into by a giant egg will completely lock A Pro up for 3 seconds but an uppercut from hell won't even faze them

    I'm not going to whine about the Assault. he's my main. He will always be my main.

    I'm just going to ask some direct questions, and I hope for some answers:

    What do you think the Assault's role is? If he was supposed to be the most versatile player and for some reason people felt the need to make him less versatile and 'focus him more', what does he do now?

    Why are people ok with the tank being so heavy hp wise, having a crippling charge effect that is a guaranteed ring out with a long dizzy and a downward trajectory knock back (unlike the Slam or the Charge), and having no cure for burn unless you're near a support? His Rail Gun is powerful and has no drop off. He has more than a fair amount of strength. Why aren't the pitchforks and torches out for him?

    because there isn't a lot of people that are good with him. if everyone was decent with him, people would bitch. the few select that are good with him can pubstomp just like any other assault main. regardless, it's pretty much been made up that he's (assault) getting nerfed.

    Same reason Assassin hasn't gotten any gimping lately, 95% of the Assassin players are horrible with that class

    I assume Q is the default bind for hover?

    If so, that won't accomplish anything. You'll still end up grappling. This was one of the first things I tried after the last patch

    Using "Q" alone doesn't work. You'll have to quickly press jump twice. Actually if you walk of an edge and press "Q" it will work.
