So everyone hates me, yet I have enough friends to get lots of votes in every category. I'm Shammas, you,re Feedle, that's my trash talk.
And you started with the personal attacks, not me.
And just for the record, I wouldn't put Joe Satriani in my top 10 solo guitarists, but he's still good.

No one hated you at time of voting, as evidenced by you winning "best morale player" for keeping spirits up in bad situations and being positive. This dislike of you is new, you have decided to just up and change your personality; or at least emulate other more notorious people. Just sayin.

I am a fan of Nuno Bettencourt, under rated by too many.

I really won that? I think I just get angrier now because people are worse and there's nothing to play for.
My top 3 are Guthrie Govan, Shawn Lane, and Allan Holdsworth.

People aren't worse, they are about the same but just new faces. I think I improved a lot, personally, and finally am able to contribute some advice so I get some of the frustration you feel, I really do. I am just not that jaded yet I guess; I can't say I will never get there though.

Although there are people with real potential.

Players like you and LeadLP who used to be considered average at best are now top picks in private matches. People look to FEEDLE for advice. /vomit

Feedle, my grillfriend and I are having some problems and I could really use your advice. She wants us to try new things, like sirloin and t-bone, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for that, what should i do?

Get a bottle of jd and drink it. Whatever happens happens... also slap on the bbq sauce and marinate it with a worchester and steak spice. Cook and flip it and enjoy. Also preheat that bbq and clean that grill.

As for satriani go see him live... I did and he puts on one of the best live shows out there

No way dude, I was all like OMG AVERAGE. Seriously though I am still bad.
Although was the vomit part just for advice from feedle or because me and lead go sooner than before? I miss the subtle things sometimes because there is no tone on the Internet.
Because, you know, inquiring minds and stuff.

People were definitely better back then. Whether you want to take it from the more competitive nature of the setting back then and constantly playing with stiff competition, or the fact that they were just better.

I'd say lead was definitely above average back then. He was one of the go to tanks you would look for along with the likes of hawkshade and crimsonautumn, and I remember him fillin assault pretty well when he got the hang of it in PMs. There is definitely a gap though for sure. I posted a list of players in a thread regarding players getting snubbed in Ubie picks. Players like Juggalo, MLGintervention, Crimsonautumn, James Melledy, Gorgamon, who would get picked 4th-5th round would crush these rooms.

I love what the new hosts have been doing getting PMs going again, I love the big wave of new blood, but to say these players are just as good as the old ones is crazy. Now you can take it as you will, these lobbies are much more laid back which is good for fresh faces, but look at some of those names I mentioned, how good they were initially starting PMs, and how much better they got through playing players like Shammas, Miracle, Kckzi, being called out on doing things wrong until they did them right, being pounded into the ground by the occasional stacked lineup. Many may not like the attitude we used to have but we produced a ton of good players

For what it is worth, I puts votes in for Juggalo and Crimson (I think). James and Gorgamon were just starting at that point so I didn't know them very well.

You may have misunderstood what I meant; I think that overall, the players who used to play and are returning are just as good. No one has gotten worse except for me, and no one has moved much up in the relative rankings (except for me, I went down). The worst of the new bunch of players is just as bad as the worst of the old, although I agree the rooms overall are weaker in terms of raw talent.

That said, there is some skill there. Guys who never did many PM's before and are coming into their own; OminousSatoshi is running a very aggresive assassin and would be a strong contender for the "one class wonder" award. On the flip side Smaug is showing a lot of versatility; he can do just as well on Sniper, Assassin, Support, Tank, or Assault. As well as the best multi role players? No, but that he is comfortable there is pretty sweet. Major Batou has a surprisingly hard to kill assault who still manages to somehow be agressive. MrTryHard is the odd combination of strong assassin and solid gunner. DaDale is fun as hell to play with\against on any class. Smarth Vader is a very vocal support, and I love having him on my team for that reason. Purple Scratchyy would probably be top 3 for the Best Purple Scratchyy award.

Are any of these guys as good as the best vets? No, but many of them as good\better than me and I can't judge honestly past that. But it is nice to see people making progress from above average pub play.
