I can't really justify anyone who plays any sport making that much money, but they do so I accept it.

It has nothing to do with the game and everything to do with the person's up bringing. I'd say Garry's Mod has a more volatile community than any CoD game I've ever played. They both have in common is that a lot of pre-teens play the games. They act how they think it's cool to act.

I have no opinion on their volatility, but I do know Gmod videos in general are the most annoying thing to have been created on the PC...right up there with youtube poop videos.

I'm not saying "uhhh look cods players are immature and sc players aren't lolololololol pc better get dumped on lolololol." I'm saying the possibility of winning 1 million bucks (or any figure for that matter) isn't an excuse to act like a buffoon, as there are plenty of people who manage not to and act their age.

But if it gets in your opponent's head, which it does in that setting, then you have to use every advantage you have.

Laser Tag 1v1 is pretty competitive.

If your opponent is that easily affected, you might as well say nothing at all and just beat him. Chances are he'll be just as raged.

What I'm trying to say is, there's no reason a mature person would feel the need to act like that, though there are plenty of rationalizations. I'm pretty old-fashioned when it comes to competition and respect.

Getting inside people's heads is kind of fun.

Beating people while being polite to them is even more fun. I don't particularly care for Starcraft, but I do know a bit about some of the competitive players. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Whitera, because he is super-polite in every game he plays.

Also, the more rude and bad-mannered you are in a game against your opponents, the more of a habit it becomes, and the more rude you are to other people in general. If cultivating that kind of attitude towards people is something that makes one a better competitive player, then esports sure won't be taken seriously by the world in general.

I certainly have no respect for any of the morons in that CoD video, no matter how good they think they are at gaming.

90% of it is all in-the-moment. They're all cool and they all hang out, but you have to cut someone's throat when $100,000 is on the line.
