Any other fighting game enthusiasts out there?

Oh gosh, how could I forget that I'm getting MvC3, game's going to be so sick. I don't know if you guys follow Shoryuken.com at all, but they posted a bunch of videos explaining some of the characters a little. I could link them if you want.

Also, I have no idea who I want to use, everybody looks pretty fun to use. Even Thor.

Im so happy they are doing the cell shading like SF4 did. Looks perfect for this genre. The new MK style is good to, im glad they went back to old school. AND IF YOU PREORDER YOU GET ORIGINAL SCORPION w/ FATALITY!!!!

I loves me some cel shading. Especially the way they did it in MvC3, makes it look like a comic in motion. Most excellent.

Still kinda skeptical about the new MK. It does look pretty sick though, so we'll see when that gets here.

I never really liked Street Fighter for its slow poking-centric gameplay, though I play it if it's available.

I played Guilty Gear for several years competitively (May/Axl) and now have an aversion to any Arc System Works fighters because of their legendarily awful balancing strategy across multiple iterations (too strong? NOW YOU'RE *** TIER)

I used to play lots of Melty Blood and Arcana Heart, but Melty's revisions are unavailable where I am, and Aksys isn't releasing Arcana Heart 3 on 360 in the U.S., so both have been dropped.

And Mortal Kombat?

Mortal Kombat is SO not gdlk. It's bottom tier. It's the Dan/Roll tier of fighting games, ranked right below Killer Instinct and Eternal Champions.

Back in the day, it was so bad it was good. These days, it's just bad. Will MK9 change that? Doubtful. If enough people get into it, though, I'll possibly get it.

See, I bought BlazBlue because I had a surplus of cash at the moment, because I didn't like SFIV, and because I couldn't wait the extra week for KoFXII (which I won't get into). After years of Guilty Gear (and disappointment), I decided to give ArcSys one last look.

I normally played the rushdown characters in fighting games (Iori, Kula, Makoto<3, Konoha) but played Rachel and fell in love. I didn't understand why I liked Rachel's playstyle so much, considering I hated Dizzy and Testament. Then I found out she was god tier, and knew what was going to happen. I quit the game well before CS arrived, and sho 'nuff, she was grotesquely disfigured by repeated nerf bat wallopings. Glad I jumped ship when I did. Nothing but disappointments in their new brutally unbalanced fighting game. A shame, since the game's really good.

Oh geez, I haven't played that game in forever.

Ragna's combos are like Sentinel in MvC3. So easy and yet so much damage! Why play anyone else?

I played Rachel, and yeah, I didn't get CS, either. She did a lot of damage and had an interesting zoning game. By interesting of course I mean WHOAMG THERE IS STUFF EVERYWHERE WHOOSH WIND ZAP FROGS WAIT ZAP FROGS YEAH THOSE ANYWAY FLYING PUMPKINS SHOCK CHAIRS UMBRELLAS AND SOME OTHER CRAP.

Blazblue is so slow compared to Guilty Gear, I played #R a week after I got BB and I couldn't keep up with it anymore.

I mained Carl and Rachel was a nightmare in CT, all of her attacks have so much more priority then Carl's

But I heard that they fixed Rachel in BBCS2

BB is still faster than I'd like. I understand that execution is a vital part of fighters. I just want emphasis on strategic timing, not frantic mashing that requires physically superior hands.

You'd probably prefer Arcana Heart to BlazBlue. Arcana Heart is slower and more deliberate, and focuses on precise combos, perfect meter management, and air spacing. It's generally a better game all-around. Arcana Heart 3 will be available on PS3 sometime mid-year as a digital download, in case you're into fail Aksys releases (where "fail" modifies both releases and Aksys, because Aksys releases are garbage, and Aksys is a garbage publisher).

Here's hoping Zen United's EU release is region-free.

Too mainstream for me.
I once came across an obscure little game in my local arcade called
'Vampire Savior' & after just one game was hooked. Jedah has got
to be the most fitting boss in any beat em up. I then discovered it was out
for dreamcast - bonus.
However, even more obscure is JoJo's Bizzare Adventure - Straight from the
pages of a manga comic. And also came out on Dreamcast.
KoF is the only mainstream one I enjoy - Iori & Mai. I got the anthology when
it came out for PS2 & was instantly hooked. So I missed out on the Neo Geo
versions.

Vampire Savior is Darkstalkers 3, and is not at all obscure. JoJo's is pretty internet famous. They're both on GGPO, which everyone who enjoys fighting games should have because why wouldn't they?

I just love this part. It's so bad.
