It's for private use, just like the rest of the game. You already paid for the model to be rendered on your screen, you're just "rendering" it elsewhere.

Yea, the main purpose of copyright is that others don't make money off it, or deny the rightful owner money. Private use of stuff is frequently put under "Fair use".

Otherwise, stuff like fan art would be sued into oblivion.
