Mikasa and Rivaille >>>>> Sorry Eren. You're a badass too but not enough to out-badass them. Mikasa Rivaille
Maybe after the anime ends Since it isn't going to cover the entirety of the manga, that might mean they come up with a random ending for it if they don't choose to end the anime at a sensible spot. So if they do go that route, I'll have new content to look forward to without the "omg this didn't happen :rage:" I'm already in the Mikasa fan club though. I think that Riv guy only showed up once in the anime so I have no opinion of him for now. But Mikasa is just amazing all the time. Really, the other females on the cast tend to be too, there's that lone wolf girl and the potato girl, Sasha. They stand out more than the rest of the guys to me.
Hahaha she's awesome. She's even a bigger brother complex than most people think lol. You can't understand things sometimes but you have to read it. The battle scenes are too good to be skipped. Rivaille kicking ***
Only a brother complex? I figured it would've turned to love eventually especially since they're not related :/
I think so. I mean it's not a romance based manga but Mikasa has been showing signs that she loves Eren. She'd do anything for him.
On a scale of one to Naruto, how ongoing does it seem? I don't want something that will never end. I'm fine with a few years. Not a decade.
IDK if it's true but I've heard that the manga will end this summer and the anime won't have a 2nd season.
Well I mean it. Because if they won't do a second season, then that means they'll make up any sort of ending to finish the 25 episode arc. See Negima (original series) and Claymore, I'm sure there are other examples. I suppose there is room for OVAs to correct this but that's questionable. Not all anime only endings are terrible, but I prefer an anime to essentially replace reading a manga with additional details (so yeah filler is ok sometimes). Speaking of which, I need more Sakurasou and Sankarea...
They were fine for me, rom coms are a nice change of pace, specifically in the case of Sakurasou since it ended up having themes I could relate to like trouble deciding what you want to do in life, dealing with friends that outshine you intellectually and artistically, and helping someone even if it causes you problems. It's no Clannad, Air, or (insert other Key stuff here) but it was more than a pleasant surprise. Way better than it's stupid title would suggest "The Pet Girl of Sakurasou", Mashiro was nice but honestly it ended up being more about everyone else. Sankarea did nothing special, I just like the concept of a "cute zombie girl" as that is a preposterous idea. Though in execution it somewhat came off underutilized, but I'd still like more just so I can see things like the fire scene animated. On the manga side of things, they've actually gotten deeper into the zombie/darkness side of the series lately (not Resident Evil like, but scientifically trying to figure out what is going on with Rea). Manga as far as I know (and according to wikipedia) yeah. Monthlies suck haha..actual volumes seem to come out like once a year over here.
So I have a ridiculous amount of time on my hands, so much that I literally have no idea what to do with it. I ran out of western series I enjoy and then I remembered there's a shitton of anime. So yea, any recommendations? I like artsy stuff.
I'm probably the worst person to suggest anything, but for clarification for someone else to provide input, artsy how? Beautiful backgrounds, detailed characters, gritty worlds?
I like it when there's some depth to something, though I despise anything that tries to be deep but is really not (think some episode from Bleach where the redhead keeps on rambling about wanting to be the rain). Or when something has a sort of experimental feel to it, like it's trying to push the genre/medium into new territory (think the 'game' Dear Esther). Though to be quite honest, at times I can be sucker for the stereotypical 'young male with enormous talent goes on a quest and gets immensely powerful.' But that's more of a mood thing.
yeah...my stuff is of the lighthearted mostly not deep variety >_> There's always "Clannad" but the time investment for that to pay off is rather long (two series, it's really great overall but I think it would fall flat for you due to the initial series). "Another" didn't feel really deep to me but a lot of people enjoyed it, so you might check into that. As far as the 'young male with enormous talent goes on a quest and gets immensely powerful.' goes, I must definitely recommend "Sword Art Online" if you want a finished series. It may remind you of .Hack a bit. Or join us in waiting on "Attack on Titan (aka "Shingeki no Kyojin") episodes (currently airing).
How current are you? I'll throw Paprika out there out of obligation and Princess Tutu out there just because. There's always Urobuchi's stuff. Psycho Pass, Madoka Magika, Fate/Zero, and Black Lagoon. PSG is super artsy, you should watch that. I've got a decent amount of stuff watched, but without knowing what you haven't seen it's hard to reccomend. EDIT: Boku no Pico also revolutionized the anime industry. It was the first of its kind and worth watching out of historical interest alone. DOUBLE EDIT:The Titan show is all about the action scenes. Zero depth from what I've seen/read, but I'm not current.
