Still have not watched Evangelion. And I still do not plan on it. Watching Trigun for the first time though. It's cool.
Sword Art Online sucks. I gave it a chance and started to watch where I stopped (EP 16) but it was just terrible. I don't think it's as good as people pretend to think of it. That's what you get for hiring a noob director, in your face. Easily the most overrated anime in a long time. Anyways, I like Haganai season 2 (NEXT) a lot. The first season was good enough to make me buy all of the volumes of the light novels. Funny shit left and right.
Trigun was unique, but not necessarily good. It has a cousin that follows its formula named Gungrave. They were both enjoyable, though. I actually watched SAO. It was entertaining for a while, but sometimes it was so corny that it made me cringe.
Corny, I guess that's the right word to describe SAO. My brother is the biggest SAOtard ever and even he says that the anime adaption's directing was terrible. "Just stick to the light novels", my brother's quote.
He's right. The first 7 or so episodes of the anime were all filler intended to be read AFTER you read the main story, and then after that they added even more filler in the middle of the main story for funsies. The second arc cut out all the good bits and emphasized the creepy sister bit. I mean they took out TONKII, the big elephant jellyfish butterfly god man for crying out loud. And yeah, it's corny. I do not consider that a bad thing. I'll second it being overrated, but it's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be either. EDIT:What should I watch after Trigun, Tiger & Bunny or more Slayers?
Okay, now it's serious time. I looked at the Spring Anime lineup and I can say I am utterly disappointed. Aside from a lot of the shows continuing off of the series I never really found interesting, a lot of the "original material" looks rehashed and boring. However, there we're a few that looked interesting. Here's a small list: Date A Live Maybe. I like anime that's revolved around apocalyptic scenarios and this may be worth a peak. Yahari Another maybe. The trials and tribulations of a socially awkward boy doesn't really sound that creative but this one looks like it would at least hold my attention. Plus, the main character sounds like a total hipster. Shingeki no Kyojin I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for this one. Mostly because it reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus, which was an amazing game. The artstyle also looks pretty cool. Namiuchigiwa This one is definitely doing to be a sleeper hit. Hell, I'll watch it for the fun of it. Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge GET HYPE!!!
All I know about T&B is that the BD sells went very well. And, my mom is a big fan of Slayers so I guess I'll suggest Slayers by default. I don't know much about both of them.
Watch Gungrave. It has the same pretentious feel as Trigun, and it starts following a formula past a certain point.
2013 Spring looks awesome. I might start watching Railgun before its 2nd season. I skipped Railgun and just stuck with Index. Did anyone get confused with Index? Especially the later half of season 2? Index got way too complicated. 'Til this day, I still don't know the purpose of the upside down guy who's always inside of a tube filled with water. Maybe watching Index OFF-subtitles was a bad idea. I guess, I was too confident with my Japanese. It seems that my Japanese isn't as good as I think. Back to Spring '13, can't wait for Oreimo 2! I've been waiting for it for 2 years. Hamachi looks Haganai-sh on paper. Seems cool.
I watched Railgun before Index and thought it was infinitely better. In fact, I dropped Index at some point. I dunno if it was the first or second season or whatever, but it wasn't enjoyable. I wouldn't say it was confusing, but it was definitely cluttered and that sucked a lot of fun out of it. Railgun was fun. I wouldn't put it at best ever and there's some(a lot of) obvious fanservice, but it was enjoyable.
Misaka Mikoto has won the best Light Novel Female Character for 4 times in a row. 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, It's almost a guarantee she's gonna win 2014 too. I personally think Index is better than her. Oh wait, I take that back.
Mirai Nikki and Madoka Magica are some pretty amazing animes that I've watched recently. And yes, I did know that it was meant to be over 8000.
Eyepatch girl managed to hide a motorcycle in her dress. Didn't finish watching it. Lack of interest.
Mirai Nikki's anime adaption was one of the worst anime I've ever seen. The original work, manga, was pretty darn good though. MadoMagi is awesome. Can't wait for the 3rd movie...
