Weren't we talking about zombies? Compare that vid with this. Well, explaining to you piece by piece kinda ruined it.
Wow, a bump to an old thread. Anyway: Nazo no Kanojo X Interesting. Starts off a bit cliched but it looks like it has some promise. It's freaking Lupin the 3rd
I don't think it started cliche at all. I've read all of the chapters of its manga. Very interesting.
I've just been looking through my old video ( ) collection and come across some absolute gems although the quality hasn't aged very well. 1. Cyber city oedo 808 - 3 criminals working for the police with explosive collars to keep them in line. 2. Golgo 13 - a hitman who NEVER fails . 3. Legend of the dragon kings - a story about 4 brothers with the ability transform in to dragons. Not the best animation but a good story. 4. Devilman: the birth / the demon bird - My all time favourite: Akira allows himself to be possessed by the demon Anon and then all kind of sh!t hits the fan  5. Dominion Tank Police - just got to love AnnaPuma and UniPuma - the catgirls. 6. and finally the first anime I ever saw - Akira. Nothing else needs to be said about this classic.
Ummm, nope. The illustrator wasn't a big fan of nowadays' generic artwork so he made it unique which I think was well executed and very successful.
Golgo 13 is the only one I know from that list. The only classic ones I liked were Doraemon, Crayon Shin-chan and Neon Genesis Evangelion. The rest were just too old for me :|
Doraemon and Crayon Shin-chan are more of a family show. Each EP is different and the story doesn't progress at all. Comedy based in general. Neon Genesis Evangelion... Really? You havn't heard of it? It's the face of the Japanese anime... I would recommend you Crayon Shin-chan.
Evangelion has ugly mechs and wasn't on the list. Got it. You said it was a comedy, will it be based mostly on wordplay like Oruchuban Ebichu? I can sort of follow along with subs on that sort of thing but it's definitely not the same.
Devilman The birth / The Demon Bird. But only if you're in to demonic violence. You're both kidding right? Never heard of Akira? I guess I'm showing my age again. Now where did I leave my walking stick?
Yes I was I suppose ZOoo00OOm hasn't heard of Akira either. Anime wasn't really available in the UK back in the early 1990s then late one night an animated film called Akira was aired and I was blown away. Channel four then started airing animes after midnight every saturday for a few months. tl;dr Akira was the first anime seen in the UK
