Planet creation on my computer isn't smooth. Planets and systems generate faster than they ever have, but the part between "creating planets" and "select landing location" is buggy as hell and takes time. Three times in a row i find myself forcibly landed on the worst imaginable spot on a planet. I play AI games for a reason. If i join a public game, i'll be a minute behind everyone else and lose. that's fine, that's why i don't play public games. But why oh why is it still enforced in AI games?
