I would love to help people play assassin/sniper better, possibly the 2 worst played classes in pubs.

Also, Raw Messiah(Red Washing Machine *AHEM*) holds the skillplay Saturdays and Wednesdays where we lock the server up and play invite only, great times to play against good players while communicating properly. Despite it's name, it's open to anyone who shows willingness to learn and follow pretty slack rules, and of course dicks like Verden.

I'll try connecting to the mumble server when its open and when I'm able to play next week.

If anyone does adopt a noob, can you stress to them that this is supposed to be a DOTA type game, therefore towers and tower defense is actually important? It doesn't matter if you're saving your 500 to buy juice for overtime if we only have 25% health left on the ball...

i could help teach people as assault as it might get me back into this game, although my accent is very hard to understand so would have to be with native english speakers only, probably :/

I don't think i need help although it can be fun to play a bit more with skilled people so i can get better. I could teach somebody the basics although i think there are better people to do that. Furthermore i don't have a mic, so communication have to go via chat.

ps: it can be usefull to put down the countries of where everybody comes from, so somebody from europe don't accidentally needs to play with somebody from the us.

Going to, kind of, necro a thread with my first post.

Hai. I'm one of the many steam noobs which half the community is winging about. I would like some help with tank, I only started a couple of days ago, but I've read the guides and I already seem to be doing pretty well. I tend to come top bot/pro kills on my team with the most money. Most of the time to just sit in a lane, killing the bots and any pros silly enough to come near my glorious eggyness until I have built up enough money to get my upgrades (I normally go for rank 2 in everything but Deploy, then take Charge up to three, because that knockdown is basically a gib with the jet gun), then I just build up juice with grenades/deploying and take out as many turrets as I can with the juice.

Thing is, I'm guessing my relative success (I was 4.8 stars a couple of matches ago, which I am guessing is out of 5) is due only to the fact that I am fighting other newbs who haven't had the common sense to read the forums for 5 minutes, if only to find out the right perks to use. So, does this game have a competative side and is anyone willing to help a very new player get into it? I'm 19, and British, but I stay up pretty late so I probably overlap with the US players too. I've played a fair amount of FPS' in the past, so this may not be a completely hopeless case.

EDIT: I am level 36 right now, my K/D is ~2.1 and my A/D is ~1

Well a good chunk of the competitive scene has moved on during the last player slump but there is Raw Messiah.

You took some good steps and I am proud of you if that means anything.

Cheers, I just think there is a lot of stuff I am probably missing, the tutorial is pretty woeful. I mean I know I just need to take down their turrets, spam missile turrets and then build a load of bots all at once and escort them in and then juice all over the money ball when it's down. There are so many other things I don't know though:

Can I take the shields down with my own weapons?
Is deathblossom just as fast as reloading?
Is it not a bug that you get head shotted from behind?

etc...

Yeah sniper bullets can pierce armor
