Abusing the support

Actually the firebase rage wage pretty common when the game first came out and people didn't know how to deal with it. I'm not sure if there was anything that directly changed the FB but it seems like it's a lot less of a threat these days.

You win. I suck at this game and can't have an opinion about how I believe a class should be played because the rest of the community disagrees.

You can have an opinion about it. Just don't expect people to agree automatically. And unless it's a glitch, don't presume to tell people how to play their game.

If you play YOUR class properly, you don't have to worry about how enemy supports play.

That's EXACTLY what I'd do. Mini gun the fire bases to death.

Oh man, this topic is tired. Well placed support turrets aren't abusing anything. It's just good strategy. We purposely try to control that room to cut the opposing team off from the juice. Makes good sense right? Sounds like it worked on you, buddy.

At this point, the answer is simply your lack of skill. The answers have been put up here, yet you seem to insist that you have to get at point-blank range of a firebase to attack it. In each case mentioned here, you can be hitting them from around the corner. I've sometimes had to employ hit-and-run tactics against such things. Oh, and let's not forget the Sniper's Flak. That thing is beastly against firebases.

I don't really care about your ability to kill firebases or deal with shotguns.

What gets to me is what Rhine keeps pointing out, specifically in your obsession with "the support was never intended to be played like this". How on earth do you come to the conclusion that the devs gave the tools of a firebase and a shotgun to the class, but then expected people to not use them effectively? Is there a clause somewhere that when picking support you have to try to NOT hurt the other team?

Although I do give you my compliments on making one of the few threads Rhineville has actually gotten a bit worked up in. Turns out he's not just permanently nice and laid back.

OP, if you could post an image of each map and colour code the areas where it's acceptable to place a firebase I'll be sure to do so in future.

Funny you say that, because for my IRL friends who I play the game with all they hear from me is swearing when I play :mrgreen:

Here's the deal. You're a relatively unexperienced player, so it's understandable that you would have trouble coming up against something like this. The thing is, most of the people posting in this thread trying to help you are very experienced players who have seen two supports working together to control the center of AmmoMule plenty of times, and have overcame it plenty of times. You're not describing anything new to us, and we've came up with ways of countering this exact situation.

You can have an opinion dude. Just don't try and tell people how to play their game unless they ask for advice.

My suggestion, next time you run into someone using a tactic you don't approve of, put the controller down, take a few deep breaths and (unless it was an obvious cheat or glitch) don't go ranting on the forums about how they stomped you with it.

This happens EVERY time I play Ammo Mule. I avoid the center area just for this purpose. For some reason, I just never get to put my firebase up there at the start of the match, but somebody always does it. Plan for it from now on.

Don't be surprised if you get smoked by a firebase that's in a tough spot to attack.

THAT'S WHY WE PUT THEM THERE.

This thread is EXACTLY why the forums are crap nowadays.

Firebases have been put in that spot since the beginning of time and just about EVERYONE has learned to either kill them or avoid them.

Oh, and don't tell people how to play support based on your rather limited understanding of the class.

Honestly, when I first saw the thread title, I thought it was going to be a guide on "How to beat up on the Support class".

I was disappointed, but the comedy of the actual thread made up for it.

if those pesky firebases are bothering you, you should switch to your bullseye class and run out in front of them. then you get money everytime they shoot you and you might drop some bacon. that's what i do.
