    Hello,

Is there a possibility to load unit files into 3Ds max?
I worked on a spider tank/spider bot for some months. Then I stopped working, because I don't want to waste my time, if I have no chance to bring the unit into the game.

But most of all I would like to work on existing units.

No, Uber is only using Blender and XSI Mod Tools in house, because 3dsMax and Maya were too expensive.

    /sarcasm off

Uber has stated that if you are a modeler, you should just wait until Uber releases the mod tools, as there will be native support for importing .fbx files.

The tool to convert fbx files to .papa is already available - papatran.exe

To import into 3ds max, you can use blender as an intermediary (clunky, I know). Use the Blender importer/exporter to import into blender, then export to a 3Ds max capable format. Once in 3ds max, you can export as fbx (you don't need to go back through blender).
