It's rather difficult to extract from Supcom, but if you can find it sure

    Like the Seraphim T4 bomber?

I was a big Cybran player, so I was thinking of the T3 Cybran Gunship Wailer.

    I
've never tried to extract the models, are they in some sort format that doesn't translate well?

They actually open up much like a .3ds. The Salem ship had each leg seperated and fully shelled (not just planes)

I was able to orient the legs to be standing (they were folded up into the model)

The real PROBLEM is that finding the models is basically impossible. They are not named what they should be in the supreme commander archive and it's very hit and miss.

There's literally hundreds to go through by hand, making it difficult.

PM me and I can get you to what you need to look for it

I know exactly how to find SupCom models :)

I tink the Wailer is a vanilla supcom unit, so its Unit ID would begin with U. as it is Cybran, the 2nd part would be R.

An Air unit, 3rd part would be A. As it is Tier 3, The 4th would be a 3. The rest of the numbers, I dunno XD

There actually USED to be a database for all the Vanilla SupCom and FA units, but it was lost.

    FAForever has their own.
    http://faforever.com/faf/unitsDB/

The unit's ID can be found in the address bar on the units page.

Wailer is an FA unit, so its UID starts with X.

    Its UID is XRA0305

3D printing cost is to big for some people, but I started year ago Alpha commander from foam and so far i couldn't find time to finish it. Its not that cool as 3D printing but its cheap. Also easier is to make bigger models, than small ones :)

So turns out I just learned that my dad picked up a cheap 3D printer just recently so I'll be getting some hands on experience soon but from what I've seen even just today I think I still had the right idea, The Level of Quality I want from a 3D printer just isn't feasible for a modest consumer grade budget yet but we'll see.

Alas, 50 micron printers exist, but prepare to pay.

I took a bit of a side track today and printed out a custom model from Warcraft 3.

Those fins shouldn't even have printed, but it came out alright.

I updated the main post with what has and what will be printed.

Yeah, that's kinda my point, there is high quality stuff out there, crazy high quality stuff, but that is simply waaaaaay outside of a Consumer-Grade Budget aside of a small, limited number of prints.

Like I said before, 15 minutes of finishing (sanding, buffing, primer) and it's a cheap way to up the quality substantially.

..But I get where you are coming from, I thought the same until I got into it more

I've seen these at a print meetup, when it fails it fails hard.

Wouldn't mind getting one at some point though

Time to create wax molds for every unit so I can have a little miniature battle with them!

There is still a lot of give and take, for example the form1 is 3200$ with a build volume of 4.9 x 4.9 x 6.5 In and resin needs extra protection for yourself if your doing any finishing after printing.

Now the print my Dad picked up is a knock-off of the Makerbot Replicator 2X, about 600$ 9.7 x 6.0 x 6.1 In.

Like I said, there is some quality stuff out there, but so far I haven't seen anything at a consumer level that meets ALL the criteria I'm personally looking for at this stage. I am looking forward to doing some testing thought now that I have easy access to one.
