Could it be possible to use an ELO scorering for 1v1 Ranked games? So all Users can be sort and you can play against other people with nearly the same score than you. This should incrase the gamefun extremly. And it is possible, that the better one player can obtain an handicap. This should incrase the gamefun again.
Ew, no Elo. Matchmaking has a different system, but you should be matched against players of similar skill. (Either a tad bit below or above your level)
The game already uses a glicko rating system which is an improvement on the elo system by taking into account player skill uncertainty. The matchmaking service already tries to match you with the closest players it can. On the handicap point that would ruin the matchmaking service by no longer being a fair test of a player's skill because one side has an advantage. - Julien
