I broke it.

Howdy,

Was playing happily this morning then took a break and just now I went to load up PA again and it crashed before it got started.

Same thing happens every time now. I've tried verifying the files and have the most up to date gfx drivers.

I haven't changed anything else, so I'm a bit perplexed.

If that doesn't fix, please post your DX-Diag and if you can, your log file from the crash in your PA.exe AppData folder:

Can you please use "Upload a File" button to upload your DxDiag.txt and then please remove text from those messages.

As long as I know most recent drivers should have "April of 2013" date and "8.97.100.11" version while you have a bit older version:

I update through steam usually, says it's up to date.

I'll do it manually through AMD now.

No dice, still broke with the new drivers.

Have you tried to install the game from uberent?

I was under the impression that once you've converted to a Steam Key you can't go back?

Launcher still works I you have steam key. Got to your my account and try install it there.

I tried deleting it on steam (including folder) first and then reinstalling and that hasn't solved it.

I'll try ubernet now.

Does it crash before you see the verify files page?

Similar problem after latest built. Normal launcher and Steam version - both of them don't work. pa.exe crashes before I even get to the main menu.

All older builds I could at least get to the main menu.

Haven't checked my drivers yet but I doubt drivers are the problem if it is only about the main menu? Also I have similar graphis card than daveinblue (and he said he tested with new drivers).

Win 7, 64 bit version with Ati Radeon 4850 HD.

I also have something with "media\user\mods: 3"(same like daveinblues log only bit different path cause different drive letters for me) which seems to be the problem.

Can you please do two things?

1 - Open this directory:
C:\Users\YOUR_WINDOWS_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log\
And then upload *.txt log files to forum.
2 - Try to open this directory:
C:\Users\YOUR_WINDOWS_USERNAME\AppData\Local\
Then try to rename "Uber Entertainment" to something like "Uber Entertainment - old" and then try to run game again.

I have the same problem. A few seconds after I hit play it comes up with "pa.exe has stopped working". Renaming the folder in appdata did nothing.

Tried this:

+ re-verified files... Didn't work.

1 clean all PA files even on steam ,unstail all.
2 unhide folders
3 go to regedit and clean all PA files
4 reset pc
5 with cclean make a clean history and files
6 reset pc
7 instal again all
8 change your nick
9 you can always format HD
