This build was focused on maintaining stability and playability as the US heads into a long holiday weekend, celebrating Independence Day. Agreed, I saw the thread like 30 seconds after it was posted, I was like "now is my chance !", aaaaaaand... he posted. I think I already found a weird behaviour with the required mass deposits : sometime, the commander seems to want to move as close as possible, I'll try to see why.
in my eyes it just seems so useless to work on a standalone launcher when you can pretty much just use steam for all the platforms i guess you guys got some good reasons either way..
 Raevn is just bored at work. Honestly (at least this time), I just happened to check straight after the post went live Not only that, but Steam takes a cut of all sales.
but how large is that userbase anyhow? why not use something that everyone should use as a pc gamer anyhow, its both social and ran by a great game company which i know so far have no bad reputation at all, the game could even sport some of the cool things like workshop and steam friends (people could join games from steam and get invited from game).
And if steam ever goes out of business, they have no obligation to allow you to continue playing "your" games. I say "your", because Steam actually own your games, they just allow you to play them (read the subscriber agreement). This alone turns many people off, so to say gamers "should" use it is not right. It is a choice, and one many gladly make, but should not be forced. Also, there's nothing preventing steam integration (like with the friends list) anyway.
I got in a 3v3v3 and then the Coherent UI crashed, and now I can't rejoin the game :c I was playing against cola, too!
I really agree with all these points, it makes sense to actually just have your own solution to publishing the game through own means. but on the other hand takes a lot of developer time to make this all work seamless on all the platforms wonder if the new launcher is in java..
If the UI crashes its maybe best to report it in the bug depository,so its easier to fix.And yeah it sucks,Cola is a good player too.Just can't seem to be able to join irc so I can play with him
