I agree. I consider that the game cannot be really playable without infinite loop on factory and also the capability for a factory to "assist"...
Also as the game is not still localized, don't forget that "wasd" will work only with qwerty layout. so I think that arrow keys are currently better.

Maybe we can consider that it's not a bug. The commander is capable to build in vertical surfaces but usually should be cleaver enough to not do it.
