First off, Hi! Ive been sitting on PA since the kickstarter (found it 1 day after it ended) and have kept up with the game until the beta release I watched a lot of YouTube videos (primarily Zaphodx1 (sp) ) so I was just itching to play this since even in Alpha it looked like I could get lost in this for hours and though I suspected that this big jump to beta would cause some issues there is only one problem I am having that mildly frustrates me right now Ill post the dxdiag on the bottom but yes I updated the drivers and have all the graphics on low anyway my one issue im having is that im getting random freezes, but it mostly occurs if I zoom out to full planet or solar system view in the match, just wanting to see if anyone else is getting that issue too I haven't played true multiplayer considering the waiting and the loading and all the other lovely little issues (mostly because i didn't know how to talk to people.... and one out of the 2 times i tried multiplayer i loaded a 15 planet system oops) , but then again I hate how the AI spams air units and there isn't a advanced AA so my early game consists of trying to protect everything until I can pump out advanced fighters So yeah this is just saying hello and I cant utilize interplanetary travel because of zoom freeze I might hop on multiplayer now because i think if I get spammed by bombers again i might just cry
You have outdated drivers: Code: Card name: AMD (ATI) FirePro M5950 (FireGL) Mobility Pro Graphics Driver Date/Size: 5/31/2011 22:01:34, 795648 bytes I'm have no idea where you can download FirePro drivers, so probably you need find out it yourself.
What's told you? Also I'm found this link: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/fire/Pages/fire_win7-64.aspx Try to use "AMD FirePro Software Suite Multilanguage" from this page. According to this document they should work for your card.
okay so I found the drivers (or i downloaded an autodetect.exe on the site to do it for me) and when all that finished it said It could not update because I had the wrong software/hardware?? edit: this was me trying it on my own I wasn't expecting a reply that fast haha I'm trying your link out now and the "whats told you" is I went to control panel>display>adjust resolution>advanced settings>properties>driver>update driver
You should never use built-in Windows tools for updating drivers. They're never work. Always download drivers from AMD/Nvidia/Intel websites.
Just download "AMD FirePro Software Suite Multilanguage" (12.104.2-whql-x32x64-159724.exe) from page I linked and install it. You don't need to use any auto detection tools.
Well I installed that and when I ran the Dxdiag it still says the 2011 date ( I take it I just click the display tab on the program and the date underneath the drivers box?
This is weird, but you can try to download "AMD Catalyst Un-install Utility" from same page, remove drivers you have and then try to install "AMD FirePro Software Suite Multilanguage" (12.104.2-whql-x32x64-159724.exe) again. Then reboot and try to generate DxDiag.txt once again.
I've had the zoom freeze on me today and I cleared it up by going to the settings while in game and go the camera tab and just re-select the normal preset and then save / close - this worked for me
welp, I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, doesnt seem to have worked considering the screen is still huge, pic included, along with the error message i got dxdiag actually says the date on this is 2009 edit: the error message was after i tried another program (ive had driver issues with this computer, brought it to tech support so 1. i dont info for school and 2. so i could play this game) when i tried just the file you recommended after it was done nothing happened...
alright so I'm looking through (I also joined a tech support forum as well) and I saw that the microsoft C++ redistributable did not download, so i tried just installing that, yet i get an error message saying that i can't install because theres a newer version on my computer... I've yet to hear back from the tech forum guys, so far they've only told me to download two apps that give them a ton of information on my laptop
Uber support can't really help you much and I'm can't too. I really want give you some advice, but unfortunately professional graphics cards like you have are extremely rare and there is not much information about that. You probably need to contact AMD support and ask why you can't update your drivers, might be they can help you.
That's okay! I really appreciate the help nonetheless, however if nobody minds I'd like to just update this with whatever I find just in case another poor soul has the same issue. I've talked to some of my colleagues with the same computer and they have not reported any of the issues I'm having, so I'm thinking I might actually have a bad component somewhere (crossing fingers that it isn't) granted they don't play the game but my drivers have been crashing periodically since I bought the computer roughly a year ago
