Your connection to the host has been lost

Hey guys, well, I know there are a lot of threads like this one, but none of them fixed my problem. So, I find a server and enter a game. For the first 30 seconds or so, the game stays in the server browser, and only then it gets to the loading screen.
Five seconds later pops the dreaded message "Your connection to the host has been lost. You will be returned to the main menu." after which I am sent back to the server browser, which now shows zero servers and can't be refreshed.

I did manage somehow to connect twice. Once I left the server in order to connect to another one, and the other time my connection was dropped and everyone just froze in their place while walking.

P.S. firewall was off and I am connected directly to the web (no router).

this kinda thing happens to me when i am trying to connect to servers with 11/12 people in them. sometimes it glitches out (i think due to someone taking your spot) and it kicks you in a weird way

This is a long shot, but have you tried joining a server by double-clicking it or pressing the join button or do you press enter? In the past, pressing ENTER bugged out and caused you to join servers that you weren't attempting to.

I doubleclick or press join and get the same error often, but only since the last update.

I received this error a couple of times this weekend. It is usually on 10/12 or 11/12 servers BUT, I usually see the message that all the spots are taken and I will be sent back to the server select screen (or some such) not the lost connection message.

This weekend, at least twice, but I think three times, I got the connection lost to Uber official servers. I played quite a bit this weekend though and was able to join all the other times just fine.
