There's all kinds of issues with legal if you put odd letters in your name. So we dropped the umlaut and just used a 'U'.

It's the same reason Arena.net changed their name to just Arena Net.

    From Wikipedia:

The word has a different meaning in the land sans umlaut and since we're an American company, this is what we went with. I tried different ideas when designing the logo and the umlaut just didn't work for the brand ID.

Actually I believe I made the comment whilst reviewing potential logo's and thought the umlaut made the U look like it was an i and j ( ijber ) . or something....

Nice to see you considered it with - I wasn't actually really serious about the "wrong" spelling and and mainly did the post because I really have no clue how the germanism "uber" is pronounced or you pronounce it.
Imo if you pronounce it still like "ber" it sounds best at least in combination with entertainment and nation. Has a nice flow to my ear but then it is a german ear.
eets "Uh ber" comes second and "You ber" is my least favourite.

How can I put this politely? Your company name sounds 'unique' to German native speakers... :) I'm not saying ber Entertainment would have been better. But when you give an interview to a German gaming site or maganzine you can probably expect a question or two regarding your company name.

Well, it's easy to remember and sorta stands out. And that's what you want for a new company.
