anyway what can this determine? I selected San Francisico (I live in NJ) and I got a B rating. Then a C rating in LA. This is all being done from my wireless laptop a floor above where the router is.

PING is basically lag. 100ms is 0.1 seconds. That is the delay between you and what you are pinging. As measured here, this is ROUND TRIP PING - the time it takes to go from you, to host, and back. If you have a ping of 100, whatever you do takes .05 seconds to get to host, then another .05 for you to get results. A ping of 500 would mean that you have about a half a second delay in whatever you are doing.

JITTER is basically the difference in ping time from one packet to the next. If you have a constant connection, even if it is highish lag, lag correction code built into the Unreal engine can help it out some. If it keeps fluctuating (i.e., a high jitter score) then you will experience more problems even though you may have a decent ping time (things like stutter step and pretty much the same as packet loss).

PACKET LOSS is how often messages fail to send. If you have a lot of packet loss you will warp around, get killed by people who aren't on screen, never hear the assassin, die while around corners (since you might not be around the corner to them) etc.

What the thresholds are before things become bad for any particular player I do not know. I seem to do fine as host to almost everyone I play with, and only have seem to have problems when everyone else does too. My numbers are posted above.

Please, do think what it must be like for others before you post. To you, it might not be annoying to see anime pictures every single damn place on the forums, but for anybody who doesn't like Japanese animation (LIKE MYSELF), it really gets quite annoying. And your making of several accounts will just make the foe-making process harder for me after you don't follow this advice.
