When I sent him a message, he said it was a bug. I find it hard to believe, but he had a friend on split-screen who played normally, if that makes a difference! He did die 2 times.... After that, he simply floated around the map. He'd spin in circles, jetpack around, then suddenly kill people while his character showed no animation. He also took no damage, even though his health was constantly in the dark red zone. When I'd charge him, he'd fly randomly up in the air and disappear (sorry, couldn't get footage of it). Whenever he was floating up in the sky, he'd suddenly kill a few of us again, with no animation or bullets :|
Wow, I don't think those are bugs. If they are he must of known how to trigger them. Were the turrets not targeting him or was it my imagination. Civilian!
This looks like the known bug of being unable to die, but be dead (ie: turrets won't target him, shooting him does nothing). Seems to happen to Assassins, Tanks, and Gunners, but I don't believe we've ever been able to reproduce the issue in-house. Several of us have seen it while playing at home to others, so we know it exists. We had a thread asking for input on this, but didn't get enough information to be able to actually find the issue causing it.
It's really really rare, and the game appears broken (graphic stuttering) before it happens. I suspect people either quit because of that or quit prior to realizing they can't be killed since it's very difficult to move. On the slim chance someone figures out how to replicate this, it's more of a fun novelty than a useful exploit.
This actually happened to me as an assassin today. Seen it before but never experienced it until today. Ironic. Kinda annoying cause my controller was stuck on super vibrate the whole time and wouldn't stop. I've seen it happen to a support to. Just so you know its possible for it to happen to them to.
I've seen this happen to a gunner, but he died shortly after shooting up into the air. I'd just assumed it was a visual glitch.
LOL you use vibe. Randy. Also on a serious note I have seen that a few times with assassins but never with a gunner.
The gunner in the video looks like hes in a position thats about to taunt. Maybe its a taunt related glitch? Hence why it happens so often to assassins...
I think every time I've seen this happen it has involved killing a person in a grapple- which seems to fit as the amount of damage a grappling target takes is often inconsistent. (as in i empty a whole clip into an enemy assassin that is grappling a team member and they take no damage, other times I destroy them etc....)
