So I was looking at the weekly earnings and wins leader boards. I was #7 in weekly earnings and #70 in wins. I just thought that that was pretty cool. I never thought that I would be number 7 in weekly wins. Anyway, even though I am #7 in weekly wins, my K/D is crap compared to everyone else's I have seen. My K/D right now is 1.623/1. This just goes to show that K/D doesn't matter to be a good player.
Depending on the player and role, K/D can matter. Will it be my deciding factor of who is and isn't good? Hell no.
Find me 3 people that aren't good with ridiculous K/D's I have a 7.0. People with the high k/d's are usually the better players.
I play them all. I play support, gunner, and tank mostly though. My playstyle is to make an opening for my team mates to push foreward, so my K/D is a little lower than most. However, another reason that I think my K/D is low is that I don't play assault that much. People who main assault usually don't die a lot because they can charge away if they need to. I am sure that if I started to main assault, my K/D would skyrocket, but I choose to play support and tank a lot because they are the least-played classes. I choose to play the gunner because I needed to learn to play as a slayer.
Depends how you play and who you play against. If you try hard all day err day in public matches then you're bound to have a high K/D unless you're absolutely bad. Then on the other side if you play privates/competitive a lot against good people, you'll most likely have a low/average K/D even if you're amazing. I have an 8+ K/D and I admit, I don't play many privates, simply because not a lot even happen. That being said, I don't go out of my way to get a really good score every match in public matches, I'm usually messing around unless good people join on the other team. Xeno has like a 16+ K/D and we all know how he plays. (joking here in case someone gets angry)
I don't think I've ever heard a competent player mention a k/d spread in a private match. That should tell you enough.
each class has different effects on your k/d snipers/gunner/assault players usually have a higher k/d while support/assassin/tank have lower i admit maining support for most of my games has ruined my kd
way back at the beginning of the game a support was the only class i could reliably get a positive k/d with.
Certain classes tend to have different K/D's. The other day I went 22-2 as support. That exact same day, I went 3-5 as support. It really depends on who is playing. Today I played 2 games as assassin. One was 21-4, another was 9-10. There is a lot of variance based on map, class, and etc.
