Won't be playing for awhile

My xbox is having trouble obtaining the IP adress from my modem, so untill i get a router or find a way to fix it i won't be on, so i'll be missing playing with the devs, doesn't really matter though, all there friends lists are full D: I'll hopefully be back before the DLC, i'd really like to get it right away

There has to be a way to fix this fairly quickly. Have you searched the Xbox360 troubleshooting forums?

All xbox support's ever helped me with is giving me excuses why they wouldn't fix my last two xbox's. I know i can set up a static IP, but i couldn't understand all that mumbo jumbo

I'm sure you've tried power-cycling your modem and Xbox, so I won't even suggest that.

Setting up a static IP doesn't work if you don't have a router, iirc. Sounds like an ISP/modem hardware problem to me. You sure you don't have a router at all? Because if you have more than one device hooked up to the internet, chances are that you have a router...

no, i have to reset my modem and unplug my computer from it, then plug in my xbox, i was online this morning and out of nowhere it d/ced me
