Wiping leaderboards for actual release?

Please excuse my nub question, I am new to PC gaming (just upgraded this holiday) and I was wondering if Uber had any plans to wipe the leaderboards for the release. It just doesn't seem fair to screw over try-hards like me who for care about my ranking

I searched for a bit but couldn't come up with an answer.

I would expect it, but at the same time it would be a shame to lose high ranking stats. I like my 6th place Super Sudden Death rank.
