What is Union? Union is an upcoming full scale faction mod in the vein of Legion. The full mod won’t be finished for some time (1 year is optimistic), so we’ve made finished parts of Union available ahead of time, with MLA units substituting for holes in the current Union unit roster. See Dissonant’s post below. Union focuses on unconventional mobility, allowing Union to access locations differently from MLA and Legion. Additionally, Union is also designed in a way to encourage diverse and reactionary army compositions. Union is not currently entirely compatible with Legion, and should NOT be hosted with Legion. There will be a compatibility patch that allows Union and Legion to work alongside each other in the future, when Union reaches a more stable state. Lore When the Commanders expanded rapidly into Xziphid space towards the end of the Century War, unaligned worlds and civilizations, unfortunate enough to be in the way, were not spared. Entire civilizations, often still developing basic technology, were wiped out. The devastation caused by the following Pro-Com War was not any kinder to these unaligned civilizations. However, as these civilizations were merely collateral damage, and not targets, small remnants of them often survived the Commander expansion and the ensuing Pro-Com War. The cultures of these remnant civilizations would forever be scarred by the damage incurred at the hands of the Machine Armies. It is these remnants that later formed The Union, a coalition of civilizations that has vowed to prevent the Machine Armies from threatening them ever again. Now that there are rumors that the Machine Armies are returning, the Union has sent its own forces to investigate. While the Union currently benefits from superior coordination and situational awareness than the fragmented MLA, they do not have the resources, technology, or numbers to continue their battle if the MLA is ever fully restored. The Union does not currently distinguish between MLA and Legion, and is thus also at war with The Legion.
