    Related: I was trying to make a "devastated metal biome" with several craters, I completely failed and the mysteries of the planet generator remain closed to me, but there were some fascinating failures.

    Looks like you're using the wrong bend mode and/or letting the orientation differ. Bend mode should be BP_LogitudePinch, fixed_orient should be set to true, rotation should be set to [0, 90, 180, 270] or some subset of those values, pole_distance_range should be set to... something, not really sure what, I've yet to really try it out myself. Whatever the radius of the crater is, really.

    Tried myself, here's an example:

    using longitude pinch and restricting the placement rotation to right angles is needed so that the orientation of the tiling matches that of the planet's decals and brushes. The pole distance range is required so that the craters can't be placed too close to the poles. If the geometry of the brush goes past the pole, the pinching bend mode breaks, of course.

    That's actually a different mod, which is still very WIP. If you're comfortable changing "client" to "server" and putting things in the right place, you could actually play it.

    Devastated includes up to ten unit cannons. I didn't know a better way than a hard limit to keep them from getting out of hand.

    PTE required. Fight the Synchronous, or for multiplayer, download the archive from github and put the unpacked directory your mod directory, where PAMM should be able to pick it up. Then go into system designer, add a metal planet, and change it's biome to metal_boss.

    Why are asteroids not triggering the damaged biome? Why do we only have a lame normal crater brush instead? :(

    So, now there is an ice_boss biome, as well as csg_test. Should I keep making one-biome mods, or depreciate this in favor of a boss biomes mod, or even all the hidden biomes?

    If I recall correctly, ice_boss biome is for purple faction leader. I remember playing that once, and I thought it was kinda awkward to have an artificial planet almost covered with a natural biome.
    But that's just my rational mind speaking :p
    The more options people will have, the happier they will be ;)

    Out of curiosity, what is csg_test exactly ?
