Hi I have been running Windows 8,1 on my system, but have recently upgraded to Windows 10 using a clean install of windows and a clean install of PA. On Win8,1 PA ran perfect, but on Win10 I often experience "hangups" where the display does not update for ½-1 second. Then it runs fine again with 60 fps and a few seconds later, a new "hangup" and it just continues like that until I give up and quit the game. It seems to start a bit into the game, like after 10-15 mins and then it only gets worse. Everything else seems to run fine, I just experience it with PA. Any ideas?
maybe win10 uses up more memory???? i know after i did a clean install of windows 10, when i know i get a spike when the game is loading, not sure if that's relevant, but i know if it's been less than a month since you installed win10... GO BACK TO 8.1!!!! Omg >.< ahahaha maybe? ^^ Sorry this isnt' much help >.<
You could try to do a clean boot, which will disable any programs running in the background that could affect the performance of PA. Instructions are here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135 If that doesn't work, well, Win10 seems to behave oddly sometimes with PA. Not sure what it is. @stephen2002 did a test a while back between Win8 and Win10, and performance seemed to be a lot better on Win8 for PA.
