will we have selected unit icons and mouseover unit icons?

    here's a situation in supcom where an icon is first unselected... then hovered over... then selected.

    how does this help?

    well it makes it easy for the eye to see which icon you're about to click on (especially as it also, as an extra plus, would bring the icon to the top layer) when you're selecting it amidst a lot of other units and structures.

    I've seen the idea suggesting to have all icons be side by side and not represent their exact location. I'm against that idea.

    Icons are meant to concisely represent exact info about the battlefield that you can use, not to be pretty. A UI that works with you not against you.

    I'm not really asking for the game to be like that I'm asking for the engine to have that. At least for us modders.

    really I'm asking this now because there's no guarantee, better to have said you wanted it rather then to be told you never asked for it.

    I believe the game already has selection icons, it turns the icon light blue at this time, so it might get confusing if you are a light blue player. I do hope it is more vivid soon.

    The mouseover will help as well for ranges.

    PA marks selected icons in a pretty simple way so far:

    Looks a lot like Uber made maybe on development pass on it so far.
    Pretty sure more improvements in this direction will follow, so i.e. mouseover could be added.
    Or a better color distinction. Currently it always turns blue. No matter what color you actually have.

    can I please have your shader? the "textured_unlit_brga_colorized.fs"

    patched again and again but I have no such thing.
