will the galactic map be a lil bit like the empire at war map?

The galactic map is already in. It does have some basic similarities to the EaW map, but you don't take your armies with you when you move on to another system.

However, it would be cool to get some launch/rocket/teleport/something animations as we move between planets.

first of all sorry for opening a new thread but i couldn't seem to find one that applied (new at the forum bis).
so how about your enemy taking planets you've already taken? no advantage from playing home team?

right now it is meant to be a sort of single player campaign, where your opponents do not respond at all in the meta-game.

Whether this will change or not, I don't know, though with multi-player coming, it might.

sweet i really hope they do.. any luck with any of u guys knowing which thread has a solution to the mac crash problem?

I don't think there is a solution, try looking through the support forum, if you can't find anything create a new thread with your specific system specs and log files etc and someone might be able to help.

There currently are some known issues with OS X that are being addressed by Uber, though no timetable has been posted that I am aware of.

It'd also be pretty cool if the galaxy was animated.
Right now it just feels like you're moving across a picture of a galaxy, if there was some animation it'd look a little nicer.
Hopefully that'll be one of the polish things we'll be getting.
