Just got out of a game of MNC on the PC beta. Fun game , but I'm pissed off. Steam username "Ekanaut" joined my game, and started cheating. Now, here i am thinking he must not be a developer, just some random pretending to be, but then when i went into friends to view previous games, i see Ekanaut, on his profile a direct link to the Uber website. Now, I'm hoping that someone can explain this, was this just the producers checking for cheating so they can clean it all out?
There's a real Ekanaut, and a fake hacker Ekanaut going around. It's been confirmed. Also, there is some chance you're just lagging or suffering from an inflated ego. Either way, err, your problem? It's a hacker, who has been identified but nothing will be done about unless server admins ban him personally in the time being until the game is working first, or it's the real Ekanaut, a developer, messing about in his own game. And there's a problem with that? See: TF2's Robin Walker's absurdly OP Rocket Launcher.
I doubt Uber-devs just go mess around in games like Valve does, if they really have to they'll host their own server.
Nope, it's not me it's AA-Rock. He's pissed off that we're enabling admin tools and decided to change his Steam id to "Ekanaut" He's a known hacker wannabe.
I find it funny that they're wasting so much energy to mess with other people in a game. Makes me laugh.
I think it's funny they're so worked up over being banned off servers they feel the need to impersonate uber employees.
I can understand why people cheat, I'm sure it's fun for a day or two, but I don't get those who do it over longer periods of time. I guess their goal is something other than winning the match though, like trying to sabotage the game or whatever - but even then I don't see what they have to gain from it. Have played against him a couple of times, and it didn't bother me any more than just going to a different server. It puzzles me why he's still around.
Is it really a question? We shoot them both! just to be sure. But luckily i have only seen him doing it so far.
